February Snowfalls 2/10-2/12, Part III & IV

I have no idea WTF is going on here.  The radar is filled in but only very light snow and the temp is getting warmer.  Major disappointment.

I’m intrigued at some of the trends for the late Tuesday into Wednesday period. Hope it keeps up.

Still feeling betrayed by the "King" Euro. Cold rain is my expectation, just like tomorrow night (tomorrow's going to be really gross, 34 degree heavy rain, eww).

Seems like the Euro has been waffling just as much as any other model lately.

Jim wants as much snow as possible, you misinterpreted him, no biggie, you be you.

He does have a point about too much being problematic though.  I have big trees in my yard and could do without 10 hours of cleanup after the storm.  That having been said I'm pissed about this one falling through because it's dry snow that doesn't cause problems.

Haven't seen snow this heavy in a long time. Reminds me of lake effect snow. 2" down now.

Must be nice.  I am completely baffled what is going wrong here.

It’s the NAM.

Shame, it's the only model showing anything good for us in the next week.

Downtown Seattle is getting blasted hard. Weather Channel should be there right now.

Wow the NAM is pretty crazy.

I don't think I'm going to get much of anything tonight. Radar returns seem to be fizzling and moving north. Maybe the system went so far north we won't even get much precip tonight with the first band?

Amazing pics, cool to watch. If it stays below freezing all night, commute is going to be nasty tomorrow.

There will not be any commute tomorrow.

On the bright side, you're getting a ton more tomorrow, are you not? Must be so great, that feeling of anticipation.

For your area, possibly. But hi-res NAM doesn't show big accumulation for the population centers. It's just too warm for a good portion of the event. This includes what's falling tonight.

That wont be the case on the west side of the sound.

2.6" in the past hour(!), 4.3" total new. Looks like I have perhaps 30 minutes more before the snow band shifts enough so that I'm not in so favored a spot. If so, will probably end up with a little over 5", maybe 6" if I pick up stray shower or two. Definitely an event that overperformed on forecast expectations.

Must be a warm bubble in the atmosphere. Low must have grabbed some slightly warmer air from the west and slung it eastward into your area. Hopefully you can switch back to snow soon.

Nearest traffic cam on 405 sums it up here nicely.

Well, you guys got your 1/10/17, I guess. Never want to hear a complaint about that storm ever again.

After a low of 7 this morning, Bremerton reported thundersnow this evening. Helluva day

So much for the dreaded "low passing to the north" situation... not a problem tonight.
