Kinda like July 2018.

Kinda, but in the Puget Sound region at least, even that July had more higher end warmth.

For example, at Seattle WFO they've had seven 85+ days this month. No 90+ days. Looks unlikely they will add more of either.

July 2018 had thirteen 85+ days and 2 90+ days.

Kind of ironic that while @TT-SEA is posting away incessantly without fail, @Cascadia_Wx are just quietly enjoying summer and living our best lyves.

I post away all year long.    Very little change.    I am not calling you or Jesse out.    Enjoy your best lives!

Meanwhile... the back-slapping duo spends every winter and spring trolling the hell out of anyone who would like a sunny day and professing drunk love for each other and making everything personal.   All the while knowing full well they will get their comeuppance in just a short time.    It defies logic.    😀

OLM down to 61 with light rain. That's heading towards Seattle, so most places in the Seattle area are probably seeing their peak temps for the day right now.

Didn't work that way for SEA... jumped to 72 now with this next sun break.    Up 4 degrees from 3 p.m. reading.   Have to see if it sticks but it might not even end up a sub-70 day now.

sure but what does that have to do with the amount of UHI effect on that station in particular since the 1980s? Was the parking lot first paved over then? MF'n romans have been putting concrete everywhere for 2000 years!! I just want you to admit that beating a record by 2C at a station with 200 years of records that is not at an airport or in a landlocked growing metropolis that's 10x or 100x what it was a few decades ago. We crave your approval of interesting phenomenon, Philip.....please, we are very sick.

Lytton beat the Canadian all time record by almost 10F in 2021.  That town “was” a little village.  I’d imagine it has a declining population the past few decades. 2C is nothing.

Rainy and 58.1°F. 0.46" and counting for the day.

Daytime max temp so far: 62.2°F.

Incredibly jealous.   I feel like we are getting screwed out here.   Nothing measurable so far.

According to the new 18Z GFS... that band comes through the Seattle area and all of King County between 8 p.m. and midnight.    Just not sure what will be left of it by then.

Up to 73 now at SEA.   Don't think I have seen inter-hour temps get adjusted down by 3 degrees.   Usually it's 2 or less.   Probably a lock for a 70-degree high now.

I am, to use @SilverFallsAndrew's terminology, really being blessed today.

The models have long been saying northern areas would score really well on this one. They have also been consistently saying that you won’t get completely skunked. I bet you get something from this.

The success of this event here comes down to a 4-hour period this evening.   Pressure is on!

Are you aware of how much Vostok and McMurdo stations have urbanized in the last 50 years? Here, let me show you a few satellite views!

Phil's family actually bought a summer home down there in one of the new subdivisions... near the Vostok Costco.

A really nice and cool 73 in Fife, enjoying the little "sweater weather" I could get in a long while with some evening coffee. Haven't felt much rain but hopefully more falls tonight.

How long until we get posts saying Vostok is no longer part of our region?

Seriously though the smoke is so annoying right now. Now in the moderate category. The sky outside looks like the hue on one of our two cats.

But as another poster said about themselves, I chose to live where I live so I guess I just gotta deal with it.

Interestingly... the water off the WA coast looks more anomalous than the water around Florida.

This system has some real juice. Several locations on the coast have seen over an inch, more than was predicted.

Hopefully it hangs together inland this evening.

Canadian HRDPS was showing some very heavy rain with the front.  1”+ along the coast.

Officially 73 at SEA for a high.

12Z GFS was only too cold by 12 degrees for the same day.     ECMWF actually nailed it perfectly.   The ECMWF has been much improved since the upgrade.   The cool bias is basically gone... at least for the Puget Sound area.
