Didn’t get a chance to post this picture last night because it was at the beginning of a “many beers” outing but caught an amazing sunset on the waterfront at Huntington Beach.

My husband helped build one of the buildings closer to the pier about 10 years back.

00z GFS looks awesome out there in the LR.  Nice to see wavetrains beginning their seasonal transition(s) across guidance.

Won’t be long now. ☃️

For someone who routinely trashes the GFS saying its garbage and should be shut down... its sort of funny when you talk about what it shows in the long range.

We were in a large shopping complex called Pacific City, one of the guys I was with used to live in the area, and he was blown away, and said none of that existed when he lived there.  Really nice area, I could see living there (if I could afford a 7 figure house).

It was such a beautiful night, temp in the upper 60's maybe 70-71, with a nice breeze coming off the water.  It was ugly hot and humid on Monday, but yesterday was nice.

I remember once that temperature was about 10-15 degrees warmer on the street than at the water edge. The marine layer can be pretty small at times because you could be walking and feel the drop mid way on the sand.

Once in a blue moon I can agree with its general idea. Doesn’t happen often but I think it’s correct w/ the troughier theme vs the operational ECMWF.

Looks like Tuesday morning is a good bet for first sub 40 low since June. Likely will get a touch of frost. If GFS is right, garden will end on my Birthday 9/25.

This is where I grew up.  It doesn't even remotely resemble the HB of the 70's and 80's.  Used to be a sleepy surfer town with great surf shops and dive bars.   I prefer the old HB.

I was born up in Pasadena, and my mom took us down to HB every chance she got.  We moved when I was 4, so my memories are pretty limited.  I sent her pictures of the pier and beach but didn't sent her anything looking inland, her head would have probably exploded.  The places we went to Tuesday night were really nice, but I can definitely appreciate the appeal of the old HB you describe.  At one point we walked past the DQ across from the pier and someone noted it had been there forever.  We then got into a discussion on what that property was probably worth now, and amazed that the owner (whoever it is) has not sold it.

I went to Fountain Valley a couple times in the 90s for network upgrades. We had to wear suits with white shirts in those days even though I was an IT guy who crawled under desks to plug in cables. The local guys took me to a burger shack on Huntington Beach where we ate lunch in our suits next to Jeff Spicole type surfers. I’m like I get why you guys like it here, this is awesome.

Basically bone dry for the next 2weeks.

12Z GEM brings some rain with a front on day 9 and 10... but the GEM changes even more than the GFS beyond day 5.
