The Sequim and PA area has always been a great place for good productive gardens, at least in my lifetime.  My grandparents lived in Gardner for years and every year their garden produced massive amounts of goodies, they would can hundreds of jars of veggies every year and gave alot of it away!!

Good chance for another one tomorrow and a fair chance for one Saturday, then you will have to wait for the next heat wave to perhaps score a final one. Don’t think you’ll make it to 35 this year.

It was a great garden year for sure.  Sounds awesome.

You might have a warm-skewed view of gardening here based solely on the last 6 years.  But this probably the new normal so you moved here at the right time.

Nah, that region has been great for gardens for at least 40 years, see my comment on PA's picture post.

Never said it was bad... but definitely different.   Ripe tomatoes and hot peppers are not a given in western WA but becoming easier over the last 15-20 years.

Sequim and PA are an entirely different world than me at 1000’ they have at least 30 more growing days than I do

Total precip through day 10 on the Euro. Ensemble mean is definitely more generous than the operational, especially for Oregon, but under half an inch spread over 10 days is still pretty dry.

No good signs of an early start to the rainy season this year.

This dovetails with the recent CFS. Showing a very warm and dry October. This gives way to a very wet November and December.

What if the next CFS run is totally different?  Nothing dovetails with the CFS.  It's completely meaningless.   😀

Deep clown range on a far less reliable model. I am not super-concerned about October yet.

All those Euro maps show is that, as I said, there are no good signs of an early start to the rainy season this year. I said nothing about signs of a late start.

An early start might still might happen; if the tap turns on in the first week of October, that is still earlier than normal. Heck, it might even turn on in late September; hour 240 is pretty clown rangy. But, no good signs of it yet.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Great to see the Brrr is back.

Fall is definitely here. Been noticing the movement of the animals this past week. The deer and elk are absolutely everywhere right now, my wife came home late the other night from the Goo Goo Dolls concert in Eugene, and said she saw deer, elk, coons, and a fox along the road in the state park on her way home. My cats and dogs have been slaying a large number of critters the past few days, highlighted by an enormous wood rat which I measured 15" from tail to nose. Below is a pic of the elk out last night.

May be an image of deer

Beautiful photo and I had a loud laugh at your comment about the brrr being back.

The lower sun angle just hit me earlier when I was watering the lawn at 6:30 and the sun didn't even shine on the grass like it normally would in July. Got colder fast too. So excited for the fall equinox!

First sub 45° day here in Everett. The color temp of whites start to move into the yellow when the sun is under 40°.

I still need to seed my lawn.

Almost 2 degrees behind 1967...meanwhile, SLE has seen 4 Augusts warmer than 1967 in the past 10 years, including 2023.

Very warm no matter how you slice it, but just a bit different from the historical context.
