Still all playing out like '19, '20, and '21.
Try a mental exercise, close your eyes.
Think of cold, snow, a wintery landscape. Think of the cityscapes of Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, and Eugene, and picture them with just globs of snow heaped over them. Keep your eyes closed and imagine maps filled with those pepto pinks and purples. Imagine that arctic air spilling over Vancouver Island and making its way back to Washington and Oregon. Imagine regional blizzard warnings and snow cov
Yeah, the delta on Monday will be telling with Graphcast and Spire. People forget (or don't know) that both models only work off of initialization data and then use various degrees of image based machine learning at very high terrain definitions. Its effectively taking those analog lists to the next level. This means though that there is no real condition modeling taking place, but rather a "I think this feature will develop here because it typically does when these patterns at these levels are
Yes. Try switching browsers.
Yesterday I couldn't get NWS local climate data to load on Firefox. It just kept going to the national map. Switching to Safari fixed it.
Today, I can't get local observation data on Safari, but they load fine on Firefox (climate data is back on Firefox too).
Oh, and my Davis WeatherLink Live device stopped transmitting at 12:45 this morning, and nothing I've tried can get it working again. Coincidence???

Volcanoes are tricky... they have been the cause of cold periods and also responsible for inundating the atmosphere with CO2 and leading to some of the warmest periods in Earth's history. I read that one volcano is Iceland which is dormant is putting out massive amounts of CO2 currently and they had no idea until they deployed drones over the area with sensors.
It appears the Earth might be entering a period of high volcanic activity. Two recent eruptions in Indonesia, the ongoing eruptions in Iceland, and now ominous warning signs from Campi Flegrei in Italy. The latter has experienced over a thousand shallow earthquakes in the past month and ground deformation of 2cm per month. Definitely something to watch.
