I'm confident it will switch back to all snow, that is well supported by all the decent models. I just hope we still have plenty of juice after that point. I think that deformation will be more focused on areas north, hopefully we won't get stuck with precip rates that are too light.

Not sure why EUG has been reporting snow throughout the event.  Certainly seems unlikely.  Tiger says ZR.

The banding is shifting on the radar. They should start becoming more stationary.

Absolutely pouring freezing rain. Such a shame, this could've been one of the most memorable snow events in EUG history if the upper levels had been colder.

Just took a lovely walk. Mix of everything mostly sleet some snow some zr. Wasn't super pleasant out there but don't get to do this very often!

Temp is holding steady at 10 with steady 15-20 winds and 30+mph gusts. Sleet snow mix. Models seem to have done really well so far. I’d guess maybe 3 inches of accumulated precip? Some of the drifts are near a foot now.

Kinda can’t blame the models at this point when it came to their precip type bi-polarity.

Hope some of that heads my way up Hwy 30 soon. Based on the models that said we'd be in the bullseye for some serious snow totals, this storm has been a bit of a disappointment so far.

Here are a couple from my place. (1) between the wind and the dry, light snow it hasn't been sticking to the roofs in my neighborhood. (2) my back deck with the (maybe) 2 inches we have so far.

This event is a real oddball.  Normally with such an extreme N to S gradient and shallow southward penetration of the deep cold the storm would have tracked further north.  Just a very tightly packed situation due to extreme forcing.

My son says its now 25 at Crystal Mountain with no wind... and he said he is over-dressed and getting warm.   Pretty much the opposite of what I told him it would be like.   The forecast yesterday showed a high of 0 today with strong wind.   In hindsight the high of 0 was going to be totally wrong with the warm nose.   I almost talked him out of going and now he says its one of the best ski days he has ever had because the snow is so deep and perfect quality and there are no lift lines.

If it's 25 on the mountain up there, that's probably a bad sign!

My son has told me the best snow conditions are at 28 degrees or lower.   Getting surprisingly close up there.   

He just told me they are in the warmest place in WA state and it happens to be at 7.000 feet.    Pretty interesting.
