FWIW Wunderground still shows a decent amount of snow for my area. I’d be very happy if this happened.

It's the drunkle NAM, but it does show cold air further west and a little bit faster to move south compared to 12z.

Also shows a pretty clear CZ signature down the sound with the Arctic front Thursday. Probably rushing things a bit, though.

When was the last time you were able to sign in on that device? April 2023? I see two IPs associated with a Windows machine you logged in with around then and haven't logged in with since, but it looks like both IPs have been unblocked already.

If you can grab the IP associated with your laptop (public, not private) feel free to send it to me and we might be able to search and see if it's still getting blocked. Otherwise, might be a cookie/cache issue or something else at play.

Yep. Shows mid 20s in Seattle by early afternoon Thursday, Bellingham in single digits by late that evening.

Doubtful, but at least it's an improvement on the last couple runs, FWIW.

I'm exactly 16 miles south of that spot and it's like a different world.  I will be under a warm nose with southerlies most of the time except for Feb '21.  The mouth of the Gorge is like entering the Arctic Kill Zone sometimes.

Warm nose, right on schedule.  right over my house!  100% accuracy.

Still got some time for the systems to trend more south. Hoping you can SCORE!

Thank you. I should be able to tackle that this evening.

Looks like the 18z ICON may take a small step in the GFS direction as well. But won’t be a complete cave.

fairly large step. still some volatility, though the kinks are working out

Pretty interesting weather day here today. Getting copious amounts of rain like an AR but without the AR-like temps. Mountains are getting nuked which is a victory in itself for a Nino year.

Interesting... precept has been very light here all day.

Massive volatility. I cant ever recall a time where there is 15c spread at day 4 and 20c spread at day 5 in the EPS. And both camps have a solid amount of other members with them.

Some kids in Africa are going to be so confused by the 500mb image that's on there "must be fake because that certainly didn't happen"

GFS is still worse, though. I’d be surprised if the GFS didn’t adjust at least a small amount westward.

overperformance....  I like it (even if it gets wiped out by rain and wind and 40 degree temps tomorrow)

Morning update: Precipitation has started a bit earlier than
anticipated in Eastern Washington and North Idaho this morning.
Added the Okanogan Valley to the existing winter weather
advisories as snow has quickly started to pile up late this
morning. Expecting a burst of 2-4 inches of snow for the
Spokane/Cda metro this afternoon and evening which may impact the
evening commute.

If you don't learn to love the rain, it can be tough out here. I see the beautiful ecosystem that the excessive rain supports: the frogs, the moss, the trees, the creeks, the lakes, the salmonberries... how can you not love rain? I get to watch my son tend to our creek or my daughter stomp in puddles. Following heavy storms, the nearby waterfalls act as white noise the moment I step outside my house.

In the last 90 days, I have had ~30" of rain and ~0" of snow. So it works out. Don't get me wrong though, I absolutely love snow.

What I love is that we also often have more sun out here too in the winter thanks to the east wind.  I  bet this area has had significantly more sun than most of western Oregon and SW WA since Nov. 1 in addition to more rain.   We aren't doing well on the snowfall aspect this winter... but usually do great in that regard too.

18z Icon is way further north for this weekend and doesn’t show any snow for Portland.

Obviously the north jump isn't great but ICON is also notoriously awful at precip type-- at face value it would be ice or snow for the metro.
