I’d definitely like my chances in the northern areas as it could be a gradient situation. Praying for TWL. I’ll be in Sunriver from Dec 23-30. Gonna try to ski at Bachelor every day. A lot more comfortable being below 44°N when at 4200’ east of the Cascades... December 2016 was wild there. Got two -7 mornings and the month was a -6 departure but apparently it was on the southern edge of big cold. Klamath Falls was like -1 and from Lassen County southwards it was a warm month. Jan 2017 spread the wealth all the way down the coast though. 1

TacomaWaWx
We’re +2.5 so far this month…looks cooler overall than what we’ve seen so far this month (obviously since it’s late November now) but still seems like a good bet we end up above normal in temperatures as well as precipitation. Still yet to get a freezing low temp here too so we may have to wait until December for that…which is a bit unusual but I’m fine with a warmer than normal November that usually ends up well for us. 1 Quote Tacoma WA elevation 300’ Monthly rainfall-3.56” Warm season rainfall-11.14” Max temp-88 +80 highs-2 +85 highs-2 +90 highs-

My ex-wife and I went down to the bar in downtown Silverton the night before, she was not much of a drinker, but for whatever reason she went all out that night. The next day she wanted my buddy to take pictures of us in the snow up at Silver Falls for Christmas cards. About 2 miles from the park she demanded he pull over and she stumbled out into the snow face planted and vomited for about 15 minutes. Came back to the car, we took the pics, and then went back to town. Later we went to my Dad's for Thanksgiving, and she just laid on his couch the entire time... We ended up having to re-take the pics for the Christmas cards. That is phenomenal. This sounds like a plot to one of those fancy Lifetime Christmas movies.

Consistent 3"/hr rates dropped 8" of snow in the morning right as I woke up and I got to enjoy the whole day before the main event came through. I was in Mount Vernon that night sledding when the mother of all snow convergence zones moved in. I caught the beginning of the 6"/hr rates which dropped 18" in a little over 3 hours in town. I-5 shut down as cars were buried in the snow and couldn't be cleared until morning. At home I only picked up another 3.5" that night, but that still made for almost a foot on the ground. That's because that album was primarily produced for the UK and those tunes were more popular there. Believe it or not, a lot of those tracks later on the album are pretty decent trance tracks and a lot better than most of the stuff on the radio today. Gouryella was great back then. Tiesto and Ferry Corsten are 2 of the most respected DJs of all time. We just don't hear them much because the American record companies don't want us to hear it. That said, my favorite vibe right now is the night drive, neon lights 80s retrowave sound that's become increasingly popular over the last decade. 1 Quote Springfield, Oregon regular season 2023-24 Stats: Coldest high: 25F (Jan 14, 2024) Coldest low: 20F (Jan 14, 2024) Days with below freezing temps: 24 (Most recent: Mar 8, 2024) Days with sub-40F highs: 4 (Most recent: Jan 16, 2024) Total snowfall: 0.0" Total ice: 2.25” Last accumulating snowfall on roads: Dec 27, 2021 (1.9") Last sub-freezing high: Jan 15, 2024 (27F) Last White Christmas: 1990 Significant wind events (gusts 45+): 0 Personal Stats: Last accumulating snowfall on roads: Dec 27, 2021 Last sub-freezing high: Jan 16, 2024 (32F) Last White Christmas: 2008 Total snowfall since joining TheWeatherForums: 42.0" Sub-freezing highs since joining TheWeatherForums: 4 Venmo GoFundMe "College Basketball vs Epilepsy": gf.me/u/zk3pj2 My Twitter @CBBjerseys4hope

It’s a sh*t show, but that’s part of the deal. Such a beautiful area. Enjoy.

Of course every event for the next nine years underperformed up here until January 2020 so I was paying off my snow debt for a long time. My location went eight years (until February 2019) without a single storm >3" of snow. We were on the southern edge of that February 2011 epicness!! Think we ended up with about 16” for that event. Sure was fun!! 2 Quote Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!
