Went to bed snowless, woke up snowless. What a winter so far! So f***** annoying

I agree. West Valley cold air dam snow line was mere miles north of me. I feel your pain.

Absolutely beautiful out there this morning!  Woke up to it snowing very hard and about 4 inches on the ground.  Still snowing, but becoming lighter.  This is the most snow I've ever seen actually fall on Christmas Eve and Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I’m not the only one enjoying this Christmas morning! All the two leggers are still asleep but the four leggers are having a blast! Still 29 which means NO DRIPPING! It is sooo quiet outside, love it!!

Winter just started on December 21 bro. I’m with snow_wiz..... we’re going to bombarded with winter weather of biblical proportions in late January into February. Roofs will collapse under the colossal weight of the snow. Snow plows will be useless. Counties will be using road graders with the V plows to plow city roads and arterials. The state will have to borrow plows from the mountain passes to plow I-5. People will miss days, even weeks of work due to the inability to keep up with the endless snow removal. Governor Inslee will declare a state of emergency, the likes of which haven’t been seen since 1880!

Any thoughts on when the pattern may turn good again? Some have teased an epic January. No sign of anything even halfway decent the first 10 days of the month. So what gives? Honestly I enjoy tracking the models more than the actually events so I am already done and moving on to what’s next. Problem is their is no real next in sight yet!

I’m still waiting for Phil and Jim’s excellent late dec. early Jan. Timeline to produce a major blast. I have heard rumblings of MLK day.

As great as this turned out for lowlanders. I think an inch or two of snow is pretty meaningless to foothills dwellers, and the gunk pattern we are going into is pretty discouraging. If we are going to have a good winter I would watch that January 10-20 period intently, if it doesn’t happen then our only hope is some kind of “epic” event to salvage things.

Unfortunately there is nothing remotely good or interesting on the 12z. Even a couple days ago the pattern looked to remain at least somewhat active. Snow Wiz and Phil definitely over promised and under delivered.

I imagine Jim will try to claim victory based on this one event.
