December 2018 Weather in the Pacific Northwest

No doubt, they could have went skiing 20 minutes away and been home in time for the game.

We are skiing again on Sunday. There are other things to do here.

We all wanted to have the game on while we are playing cards after dinner. There are 11 of us... I was tasked with finding the game. Not going to happen.

Gonna be on night shift with me and Rob tonight?

I can't do night shift tonight leaving at 7 AM heading up to Seattle to UW Medical Center to visit Nephew. Weather looks like garbage after 1-2 PM which should make for a fun drive on the way home.

00z NAM in 16 minutes

00z GFS in 2 hours 3 minutes

00z GEM in 2 hours 26 minutes

00z ECMWF in 4 hours 21 minutes

Shaw Blue sky is where you push the blue mic. button on your remote to find programming or stations. Regular Shaw is basic cable channels so you don't get all the programming. Most of our channels and specialty channels are packaged so depends where your staying if they have all the TSN channels it's on TSN3, hope this helps you out.

Lets hope so.  Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Exactly right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, or perhaps even 3 times a day. It really depends on how badly broken the clock is and the craftsmanship of the said clock. It also depends on what was used to break the clock. Was it a hammer or twinkie. Who broke the clock. Was it a strong person or small child who broke the clock. What kind of force occurred. If the clock was thrown or dropped, at what height did that occur from. What kind of surface did the clock land on. Was the clock breaker clumsy and could have perhaps stepped on the clock causing even more damage. Did they fall on the clock. There is a plethora of details we simply do not know as to how or why the clock is even broken and therefore we cannot ascertain how badly broken the clock is or its reliability to accurately tell us what time it is. To add to this. What if the clock....... okay this is quickly spiraling into a pile of nonsense. Yeah

First legitimate snowfall of the season for the higher elevations around Metro Vancouver today.

Where the hell is that?

I'm guessing that's on Burnaby Mountain? It looks like Metrotown/Central Burnaby though.

I finally saw some snow flakes today but it was mixed with rain most of the time.

Be well my friend.  I hope things go better for him.  :(

Thanks! He is doing pretty darn good. He has been in good spirits. They are just trying to get in him in the best possible shape before the transplant. It is a process and can be very lengthy. Have fun analyzing the 6z runs tonight!

6z NAM in 5 hours 50 minutes

This is weird. The 6z NAM begins at 11:40 PM. It is now 5:50 PM. It starts in 5 hours 50 minutes. What does it means? Arctic blast within 45 days!

Weird that your flight actually left that day with a foot of snow falling. Unless you had left earlier in the day?

Meaning I've seen the pdx airport delay flights for flurries let alone an all out snowstorm.

My brother was suppose to leave on December 20th 2008 at 9am and his flight was cancelled so the next flight out he got was December 26th. He was flying to St. Louis but they didn't have bad weather at the time. Just a memory these days.

It’s be nice to get some fun and cold events in January and February so the whole “winter ends with December” crowd can get a shot in the snowballs.

Part of the problem is that so many of the recent winter events have happened in December with absolutely nothing or a mere glancing blow afterwards. Gradually, our expectations of winter climaxing during December have become the norm. I assume it will take a few Winters back to back with notable events occuring in January for our perception to begin to change.

As Jesse would say. Some ensemble improvement on the 18z. And he would be right!

There have been a fair share of notable events after December in recent years: Feb 2018, Feb 2017, Jan 2017, Feb 2014, Jan 2012, Feb 2011.

Pretty much any winter that's been worth anything the past decade has had something decent post-December.
