The last two days have been different...ever since the drop in DP’s it has been extra quiet outside...not sure if the animals are hanging low or what but it is just different right now.

I know what you mean. I swear I heard a chickadee fart near the bird feeder early this morning.

Friend of mine that lives in the Bellingham area lost power and is currently running generator power. He said it is blowing pretty good up there.

Yeah we lost power at about 10:45 or so but it was not due to the storm, it was due to a driver who thought that a power pole would do better at a 45 degree angle rather than the 90 degree angle the Power Company set them at.  Didn't get power back until 4:45, and unfortunately I don't have a battery backup for my weather station so I didn't get any wind readings :-/  We definitely had a few gusts that would have been at least at the 34mph we got early in the morning.

Finally some needed rain.

We will see if it holds... something tells me future runs might go back to more splitting with that trough.

Decent dump of mountain snow on this run.

00z ECMWF was a nice improvement. If this solution were to be right that ridge offshore would be beaten down quickly. After Day 5-6 the pattern becomes quite progressive and may open the door to a strong jet, wind storm and mt. snow pattern.

Here are two Day 7-10 GIFs showing that.

Both the 00z GEFS/CMCE shows the Gorge, Columbia Basin locked in low level arctic air with 850s at -8c through December 1st. The strong east wind this weekend will pull in cold air to at least give PDX metro a low chance for some brief snow 2-7 AM Sunday assuming there's moisture. Details are going to change the next few days. C'MON!!!

00z EPS 47 minutes (Pivotal)

12z GFS 7 hours 47 minutes

Definitely the coldest east wind we've seen yet this weekend (and possibly the strongest in the Gorge).

Wishing you all a "Happy Thanksgiving" from Canada, love this time of the year feels like the official start of the Christmas season. let's hope it's like a switch that turns things around for all of us with mountain snows and lowland cold and snow as well. I must say this Fraser river out flow is very under performing. only sitting at 33f winds are still gusting to 30kmh dewpoint is -11c humidity is 42% there's just no bite to this. The one in Oct. was awesome for that early. oh well hope for a pattern reset come Dec.
