I've been burned so many times in January I am trying to maintain some healthy skepticism.

Did it snow in pdx?

December 25-26 2021 I got 2-3 inches. It wasn't widespread though. In Hillsboro that morning there was hardly a dusting on grass but as you went west to North Plains, Banks, Forest Grove, etc. there were a few inches and good accumulation in the Coast Range of course. Don't remember how other parts of the metro did.

There should be a very good chance of snow going into it.

Yeah, we had around 1-2" that night. Then another 0.5-1" 27-28th night, and maybe similar amounts on the 30th. We actually had a nice surprise 1" on December 13th

This run has a lot less snow for the Willamette Valley. It's also incredibly cold, so I suppose you win some and you lose some.

We managed a few rounds up here. Got skunked with that first round, but had an inch with the arctic front that next night. Then a few inches on the 27th-28th with the slider and another inch on the 30th before the south winds broke through. Depth peaked around 3". One subfreezing day on the 27th but it never dropped below 23-24, and another subfreezing high in January (!) on New Year's Day.

Kinda frustrating here given what was modeled and the blessings seen elsewhere, but still an objectively solid stretch.

Nevada side up on Kingsbury grade or in town by the casinos? If you are up on Kingsbury grade they get absolutely buried and you can get snowed in up there. You will want a shovel, food, gas etc. If your in town the casinos are one of the least snowy spots so you don't have to worry down there. If a storm is coming in the gondola from the village won't run so get to the parking lots in Cali and Nevada bases early. The shuttles suck

We're staying just barely on the CA side in the Mariott Grand Residence Club, right off Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Yeah, this was our peak depth overall, on the 26th. Really nice to wake up to this though. That 27th-28th system kind of screwed us a bit but it was still a decent stretch.
