It looks very fine to me but it also has that slight icy sound. Definitely snow here though

Basically just feels like walking on compact snow, so I am not complaining about this sleet. Would rather have this over ZR.

Good news, the NWS Portland is saying the front is slower so it could stall. So they have increased snow totals. 6”-12” for a good portion of the Metro area. Looks like they think Battle Ground will be the big winners.

Yeah I've been saying 5-10 in for the metro with this and I think we can pull that off for most of us. 

Hopefully can hold the sleet off over the next few hours.

No, it is not going to snow here. We had a little last night, but now it's a ZR/Sleet mix. We've had about 9" of snow in the past week though, so it's all good.

South/Central Valley seems to be staying more sleet than had been modeled. Surprised to see it all down through Lane County. Bodes well for the depth of the cold layer today and also great if those guys can avoid the ZR catastrophe.

Similar here, but I can't really tell because of the winds. Already more than the 12z 3km NAM showed

Ended up falling to 19 by 11pm last night here, for a 38/19 spread yesterday. 

East winds are currently raging, with 40-50mph gusts and moderate snow. Temp is down to 14 and still dropping. Some of the more brutal conditions I’ve experienced around here. Planning to do a walk soon!

I'm finding some of these reports of mixed precip/freezing rain deep into the PDX metro already a little hard to believe. There's no way, right?

Same issue here, the wind makes it very hard to tell how much has fallen. Light snow started around 7:30am this morning but has picked up in the last hour. I’d guess a half inch to an inch too. Although there are already drifts of 3-4 inches in spots.

Looks like the end of the low pressure is coming on the shore, is that true or is there more behind that the radar isn't picking up?

Yeah, safe to say the NAM was laughable. Any lingering good will it had from 2017 is gone.

I live maybe 3-5 miles east of there and I can confirm all snow here. Looks like a bad OB to me, especially with all the snow obs surrounding it.

-14.4 here with full sunshine and a NE breeze. Bottomed out at -21.5 this morning. Glad everyone in Oregon is getting some winter!

No, it's hard to see the low clouds but the last couple of frames, you can see low clouds. Also, you can see some Enhancement in the clouds. That would be heavier precipitation.

Yeah, the winds have been insane. Haven't seen winds like this before. Went outside and looked like an average of a half inch so far.

If by that you mean sleet then yes. Current temp is 22 after a low of 19. The models were pretty clear sleet/ZR would be the dominant precip type here. Makes little difference to me as long as it's cold. Though this stuff is much harder to drive in.

Cool, thanks for confirming. That's what I was thinking, but the fact that there were 3 other zr/sleet reports in close proximity got me mildly concerned, lol. I'd be curious to hear a real report from someone who knows what they're looking at around Oregon City as well. That cluster down there also seems a bit odd to me, but is a little more plausible at least.
