February 2024 Weather in the PNW

Yeah, just a few miles away I do much better…but still not the best spot in western WA either. We’ve had 7.5” here since December 2021…but overall after this winter assuming a big snowfall doesn’t happen in the next few weeks we will probably be due for a 4-6” snowfall. Havent had a big snow event since December 2021…just a lot of small ones.

From 1990-2006, I think Tacoma only had like four 4"+ snowfalls.

Hope your square body plow is ready to roll!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Winds still cranking, but aside from a few stray flakes, nothing at the surface here. Blown to smithereens!

Wind advisory out now for EPSL, up to 50 mph gusts (seems about right!).

Temp down to 32 here now. For what it’s worth the gfs has been more accurate for this event so far

Holding at 36 with rain and the occasional flake mixed in here. Pretty in line with what most models showed. Just a few extra miles makes a big difference with these cold air damming events.

Still dry here. Very light wind but as I’ve said before this place isn’t really exposed to east wind.

I wonder if @TT-SEA is seeing anything. Radar looks pretty decent over North Bend but it’s probably misleading.

25 degrees, got 4.5 inches today. Precip should be done for a while but we might get occasional light stuff.

A rare day where we have nearly the same total. Never warmed up like anticipated here. The wet snow froze this evening and that was one of the sketchier drives I’ve had in awhile.

I’m going to guess no. I’m on the other side of the cedar river water shed and the radar looks healthy but all I see are a few flakes. Wind is screwing the foothills for now.

We’ve dropped from 45 degrees at 6:30 to 35 now at 9:00. Despite the temp drop it still hasn’t fully transitioned to snow. We will probably fully transition and get stickage if we can get down to 33-34 degrees and get steady heavier precipitation.

Crazy that you are colder than me. 37 here and all snow.

Is it still snowing there? As soon as it turned moderate snow, it stopped

Only a few random flakes here. I think the DP may be just above freezing despite the temp drop now that we’ve cooled down…but if we get some heavier precipitation it’ll change back over. I think if we get stickage it’ll be later tonight.

39/26 at SEA now with precip about to start. Be interesting to see what happens there tonight. Would be great to see them pull off a minor accumulation. Definitely possible at 400 feet.

We got home this afternoon so just in time for this event.  Haven't seen anything falling here yet.

You sure your station doesn't have warm bias? Sometimes they get out of whack and show temps sometimes a couple degrees too warm or cold.

Coldest temp this winter: -7 Jan 13th

Snow depth at Mount Bachelor (last updated March 27th) 107"

Snow depth at my home (updated March 27th): none

23-24 seasonal snowfall at home (updated March 27th): 84"

There's been a power outages in NB for the last couple hours. No ETA for restoration from a friend there.

Power was out at our house for about 18 hours from yesterday afternoon through this morning and was related to equipment issues.   The weather was totally quiet at that time.   Can't ever remember an outage that long completely unrelated to weather.   Glad we missed it.
