It was like that in Cannon Beach that year when I lived a block from the ocean but that's normal for them. Interesting it was like that elsewhere.

Still trying to make sense of how we ended up with almost five inches and CB got zilch???

Hit 45 again today. The lull in precip over the afternoon allowed today to get about as “warm” as yesterday despite the slow start.

Still a couple inches of snow around on the grass and roof and other spots though. We will probably hold onto some snowcover into the night which is pretty unfathomable for 4/11

I remember us thinking the March 2020 event was insane for that late in the season…this is a whole extra level of crazy.

51/37 here today…just 0.02” this morning. Winters still not done yet wouldn’t be surprised if we see some more lowland snow over the next couple nights.

Looks like a high of 50 at Corvallis today. Overperformed a bit. We ended up with some frozen stuff around 10 AM, but it fell fast and didn't feel soft like snow. Probably graupel.

Meanwhile Medford is at 35 now... looks like the northerlies finally broke the Siskiyous as well with 36 at Montague. Looks like Sunriver didn't break freezing, and Brookings has not broken out of the 40s as of right now.

I am hearing from my friend up north that the Kelso/Longview area is pretty much a war zone of downed trees. I’m guessing that is pretty widespread especially in the areas with 5+ inch totals

This was an awesome and historic event to witness, but the last 18 months really haven’t been too kind to the local vegetation

Friend of my mom's down there lost power. A substantial storm

it's not a bad thought, even some folks on here pretty well say as much for themselves. Don't really want to have this evolve into further discussion or do some armchair psychology but it didn't seem like this was a healthy place for him or for the folks he lashed out at.

Apparently my neighborhood is an absolute mess tonight-- trees and branches down, roads blocked, lines down. Cost of this absolutely incredible late season event-- also have heard several other areas took a similar beating. Has been an absolute pleasure tracking this event, I think the lower stakes made it drastically more tolerable than this past December.

How familiar are you with 3/22/2012? It really doesn’t get much more impressive than that. That was pretty widespread to, from south of Eugene to the south PDX metro. 6-10” in Eugene, several inches in the Salem area. We had 20” up here. I believe it was the latest sub 40 on record at Eugene.

We would have easily hit the low to mid 40s in this airmass today, but we kept solid cloud cover until around 5p.

I don’t remember it happening as a kid but I remember you guys mentioning it a bunch. I just remember how crazy everyone thought march 2020 was at the time and then here we are 2 years later with a much more impressive event. Almost a full month later and many places actually got more snow than that event.

That one extended to SW WA as well, up to Lewis County I believe. My folks in Clark County picked up about 3" as the band shifted north on the night of the 21st-22nd. Most of Eugene's snow had fallen on the morning of the 21st.

New snowpack in the Sierras won't fix this drought, but it will allow for some insurance into the Summer. If the torching can be somewhat withheld, the fire situation may not be so bad.

The 18z GFS also wants to give Seattle's April low record a run for its money. Cloudcover is a bit much, so this is probably overdone. Though if things do clear up, the airmass overhead will be very cold, and sfc pressure gradients will be offshore, so cooling potential is high.

Actually, just going by raw GFS output, each of the overnight low temperature records at KSEA out to the 18th will be threatened.

Today's 36°F at SeaTac won't be a record, since the record low for April 11th is 34°F, set in... 2021?!

SeaTac went 30 years without setting or tying an April low temperature record until it reached 34°F a year ago today. After going 30 years without doing so, KSEA may set/tie an April low temperature record in two consecutive years. Wild.

What is up with the highlighted Longtimer boxes around some those of us aged veterans of the forum, kinda annoying.  Also why is there a 925 temp map with crayons on our posts, on PC anyways?  Mobile doesn't show the map but the box is there.

Yeah, I think the 3km NAM looks more realistic for the coming days. Mostly has temps in the mid 30s with maybe the outlying areas near KSEA approaching freezing Wed-Fri mornings. But who knows, this event still probably has some surprises in store.

My April record low is 28.8F from April 10, 2010 and I find it hard to imagine I'll end up hitting that in the next couple days, but if gradients relax and the skies stay clear it's possible. In the last 10 years I've had 7 April freezes and I haven't had one yet (although today's 32.1F was about as close as it gets) so hopefully I'll pick up a couple.
