Skagit Weather
Had about 5-10 minutes of heavy snow-rain mix. At its peak it was probably 90% snow and started accumulating on the cars as the temp dropped down to 34F. I was able to make a very small slush ball before it disappeared. Easiest way would probably be to start with a topographic map and make adjustments for latitude, outflow, shadowing, convergence, cold air damming, orographic lift, and proximity to the water. Set aside a week next summer and hit the books? We can get Scott Sistek and some other PNW experts to join in on the project… who in??? Show of hands!!! And if we get snow, other areas get 4 inches more. Maybe cause it’s surrounded by more water on three sides? Probably why it’s addicting for me to look at new houses in North Bend or even Omak/Colville on Redfin lol. Besides being shadowed a lot of the times the south winds sneak in down here as well and end a snow event. It is a sad area for snow. It’s also been my experience driving from Federal away to the Tacoma Costco for work we can have 3 inches of snow here and when I get down to the flats of Fife theirs dusting then as I reach the building back up to 3 inches. Fife definitely the worst

bainbridgekid
I really think that each 100 feet of elevation makes about an inch difference in average annual snowfall around here. Which means the top of a 400 foot hill often averages twice as much as the bottom a mile or two away. I live at 500 feet in South Everett and think I average 10-12” a year, but downtown Everett at sea level probably averages closer to 5-7”. 4 Everett Snowfall (510 feet elevation) Snow since February 2019: 91" 2023-24: 6" 2022-23: 17.5" 2021-22: 17.75" 2020-21: 14.5” 2019-20: 10.5" 2018-19: 24.75"

Chewbacca Defense
Down to 28 and we got a good dusting of snow. Steady breeze out of the north....can't complain too much about that. Also, puppy's first snow and she loves it. After I shot the video, we came back inside and she just sat at the window, stared at the snow coming down and whined. So we went back out and she had her muzzle on the deck sniffing/licking the show....She's a keeper for sure! Can't wait to get her up to the mountain or some decent snow depth here!
