I think its related to the late leaf out... but it is interesting.    I noticed the trees were almost totally bare in the area from Marysville to Mount Vernon and it looked much more like winter.

Also seems to be a lot further along down here. That pic is closer to what it looked like here 10ish days back.

we still have fully green leaved deciduous trees here with snow and sub 30 temps at 2:30pm.  so weird.  they were the same trees that didn't get fully leafed until June this Spring

4" depth at GEG going into a lengthy cold spell. Gonna be some nice low temps and snow preservation coming up.

Just some updates to the wild wind storm a few days ago.  Tree's are still being cut and removed.  I've never seen so many in my life knocked down here ever.  The county-wide PUD still has 40,000 people without power and some schools had to even stay closed due to no power yet.  Yesterday businesses in downtown Edmond's remained closed due to no power.  That was a wild and intense storm for Snohomish County.  By far one of the biggest ever.

Yeah the damage was very extensive all across the county, the trees do not take kindly to west winds…Every west wind event here has equaled a 2-3 day power outage…This one could break my 3 day outage record from January 2021 (living here since 2018, have had longer outages up at Lake Goodwin when I lived there at the family lake house back in the day, November 2006 we went 5 days)

The Hannukah Eve storm I believe my parents place up in Woodinville was out for at least a week.  Never seen so many trees down.  Woodinville Duvall rd looked like a zipper from the power poles laying down on the road.

Been dumping snow up at my house. The highway at Silver Falls was covered for a bit in the past hour. Looks like it's currently 33 up at the house after a high of 36. Sun is out now in Salem and 43 degrees.

Looks like the record min/max of 36 from 1945 will at least be tied today at the park. Record snowfall is 0.4" from 1945 as well. Record high is 65 from 1978 (My that worm turned quickly...), average high is 52. Record rainfall for the date is 6.69" back in 2006.

That is a long a time without power.  Dang.  Hope you all are okay up there.

I'm lucky because I think my neighborhood is tied to Boeing's grid, so they always get us running very fast.  But it's crazy how some gas stations can't pump around here because of no power.  There is so much we take for granted without it.

Insanely wet in Corvallis. Standing water everywhere, you get drenched walking from the parking lot to the store.

Not exactly mad about an upcoming dry stretch at this point.

I had to drive to Bellingham for work today and got to enjoy the brief snow showers that hit around 11-12. Car thermometer briefly dipped to 30. 'Twas exciting!

Currently a mix of decently heavy rain and ice pellets in Ravenna/Roosevelt. Sky is ominously dark. One of these days I'll get a little weather station.

It has been pretty wet down this way. SLE is now at 5.06" on the month. I bet after today I will be over 8" of precip, November average is 10.16". Great stretch.

Live view from Issaquah... just doesn't look like the second week of November.     Looks more like early October.

Drove through near there this morning on my way to work. The tops of those "mountains" were treed all glazed with snow. Was beautiful to see the lower trees along the main street all in full foliage and the snow on the trees up on the tops of the mountains. Would have made a great promotional picture for the city. (This intersection is greener than many other areas around. Not sure why.)

We had some nice colors on the trees for a few days which was surprising considering the smoky dry weather in the first half of the fall…then the windstorm came Friday night and a lot of the trees lost most of their leaves.

We are doing well, our generator is an absolute lifesaver! And I’m really glad I went nuts at Costco a few weeks ago and bought a ton of batteries, been going through a lot with the lanterns since the generator circuits do not include the bathrooms, bedrooms, or upstairs. Just put fresh batteries in everything. Have gone though about 20 gallons of gas so far and used 5% of my propane from the tank to run the gas fireplace (I hope that gauge is accurate as I am at 35% now, started with 40% on Friday)

The only issue we are having is we are running low on clean clothes lol

What is up with this pattern actually?  It looks like an offshore low rotating showers onshore.  But it's behaving as a stationary front of sorts with a band of heavy precip that has remained in place for two days with a break overnight.

0.92" on the day and pouring here (though some of that is still melted snow in the gauge from yesterday), 2.20" since yesterday morning, 37.6 degrees at my house.

I could see the sunshine to the SE this morning.

Deformation band set up late morning. Rained incessantly in Stayton while you could see definitive brightness in the sky below the cloud deck to the south all the while.

Broke up around 230pm but ended with a R/S mix for a bit.
