I think Seattle only had one sub 30 max in the 20th century after Feb 20.  These model runs show it might happen.

Despite living in snow-impotent Gladstone, I’ll admit I’m finding it difficult to not get a little excited with each successive run.  I think I am in need of an ambiguously phrased and sarcasm-soaked teleconnections reference to temper said enthusiasm.

All the models are at least hinting at King County being absolutely buried on Tuesday.   GFS goes nuts with it but the same elements are there on the ICON and GEM.     Has the pre-cursor feeling of a 12+ inch day for my area.

I remember I lived in Troutdale in February 1989. It never did snow although we had a few flurries. It did get very cold. There was a daytime high of 10 which is the all time low in all the years living east of Portland. The wind chill was significantly below zero so they did close the schools.

CMC gets the party started at the upper levels at hour 132. So far so good. Timing marching forward. Also, minimal overwater trajectory for that initial trough, which is what Seattle needs for snow.
