Need help preparing the report for your boss??

He should have a mic in his hand, go to his boss and say “SSW, negative PNA, Euro onboard” and then drop the mic and walk away.

Nothing about the MJO? Talk about a slap to Jim’s pretty face.

Scurries back to the mic, picks it up and says “Oh and Jim’s MJO” and then slams the mic back down and slowly walks away…Backwards just staring at the man or woman in charge without even blinking.

SP 500 steadily ticked upward as the Euro rolled out. Good sign!

I wanted to tell you i have been seeing a bunch of cam and lifter problems in the hemi engines, make sure to run a  good synthetic oil. I have replaced cam and lifters in two 5.7 hemi engines in the last 3 months.  This is if you still have the ram truck.

How about the GM 5.3…Been hearing a lot about the same issue in those engines and I’m paranoid and have been hearing slight ticking once in a while, but it could just be me. I had the dealer look at it and of course it was as quiet as can be when we were all standing around it listening. They even let it idle while they replaced the rear window seal as it was leaking but no ticking. Mainly notice it when I get out to grab the mail in the driveway after driving home from work. (1 mile drive) Starting to get worried since my warranty will be up in May. 2020 GMC Sierra with 31k miles on it now.

That first system next Tuesday reminds me of the table setter on 12/24/21.

Yes! It's a great engine but they have problems with the cylinder deactivation lifters. Also they have a plastic lifter retainer that holds the lifters in the block and they have problems cracking. The cylinder deactivation solenoid system can also fail.

I have worked on more of these 5.3, 6.0, and 6.2 gm engines than any shop around and know them really good. Best thing to do at this point is change the oil and use a straight synthetic oil. But i tell people to change the oil when it starts to get dirty, The milage idea really isn't a good method because driving varies a bunch between people and how and where they drive. If the oil is dirty at 2k miles change it, if it still looks clean at 5k miles leave it.  If you hear a ticking then you have a issue.

So the "Hemi tick" isn't just one of those cute little nicknames then huh?  Crud...

For late February here I would say there is a pretty clear top tier.

1960

1962

1971

2011

Then 2018 and 2022 are pretty good, but not in the same class as the others. 1962 is the benchmark for single digit lows with a low of 8 on the 26th and 9 on the 27th. 1971 was probably the best combination of cold and snow, bottoming out at 11 on the 28th after about 30" of snow fell over the previous 3-4 days.

2011 had 4 sub-freezing highs including a 28/14 and 27/10 on the 25th and 26th. The 27 is a benchmark, as the park has not recorded a sub 30 high any later.

The low of 5 that OLM saw on 2/25/11 is likely the most anomalous cold temp recorded by any major station this century. By far the coldest temp that late in the season...next closest is 2/6/89.
