Maybe I’m weird but I’ve always liked the early sunsets. The long evenings can be cozy. On the flip side I’ve always enjoyed the super late sunsets on the opposite side of the year too. I enjoy dynamism when it comes to daylight length throughout the year. To me it would be strange living at a lower latitude where daylight length and sun angle are more uniform year round. I realize this is just personal preference though.
In this area 2012 was much wetter.
Also you go by calendar year, but water year is a better way to look at it. Though, the water year is still above average here. Just a housekeeping clarification. Really nice to see some snow still in the mountains. Many feet on the ground still up at the Santiam Pass. Of course last year at this time there was more snow in the Oregon Cascades, but then summer started a few days later.
0.59" of rain since yesterday with 0.35" since midnight. Showers and another chilly day in store with temps staying in the 50's for most spots in the county. Clouds and showers but warmer temps look likely for the entire work week with Tuesday looking like the driest day with maybe even some sun at times. Wednesday looks the warmest with temps near 80 degrees.
Chester County records for today: High 94 degrees at Phoenixville (1930) / Low 27 degrees at Phoenixville (1966) / Rain 2.01" at both Nottingham and Warwick Township (2019)
The faucet shuts off every year. Doesn't get much better than +4 to +5 inches above normal at this point in the year heading into the warm season.
And PDX is almost exactly as wet as 2012 to this point in the year now. A year you just defined as ridiculously wet!
