I really like the fact the ECMWF shows a nice sharp Arctic front with this event.  Those are always so cool.  This one is so sudden that it replaces marine air with Arctic air along with convergence.  A recipe for some snow.

First two snow chances have possible over performance writer all over them. Wednesday system is a small late developing system, and Arctic front can always surprise.

38/32 so far on the day. Currently 38.

.60” on the day.
Apparently everything had turned white here at home after I left for work with the temp at 32, I asked my wife who worked from home today if she took pictures…She just stared at me for a second and then said why would I take pictures of a little slush…😲

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Still hasn't made 40 here either.  Models say that will change in a couple of hours with the wind.

I’m looking forward to the Tuesday night early Wednesday time frame. I’ll feel good scoring a dusting prior to the arrival of the weak arctic front.

I think the front will actually have some teeth.

Looks good here! Is some of that around Portland from the Wednesday system?

Very interesting run.  It punches the cold air further south and yet the precip band ends up further north.  Excellent for SW WA, Central Puget Sound, and maybe the Portland area.

This is 10:1.  North of OLM this will be higher than 10:1.  Snow.

That would be nice, hopefully we can both score. Maybe we can have some good last minute trends. How much snow falls the previous 24 hours and what are temps like?

People in the Seattle area should be getting a bit excited now that the ECMWF models seem to be on board for snow this weekend.  It will be good quality snow too with cold temps.

Shhh. Have you seen the GFS? By the time this storm is here it will end up at Vancouver Island.

Is it a precip issue this run? Nice to see it gets cold, at least. How does ice accumulation look?

When was the last time Portland and Seattle had a few inches of snow from the same storm?

February 2021 dropped double digit inches on both of them. Extremely rare. I don't think that storm gets enough credit sometimes on here for how historically awesome it truly was.

Way too much suppression for that to happen.  Models are unanimous on that.

That was a juicy system that came in with perfect placement.  The type of snowstorm you get only a handful of times in a lifetime in Seattle. Total was just over 8" in Seattle I think?

That one was very interesting.  My area got kind of shafted on the main event, because of too much east wind.  The next day the places that got way more snow warmed up and got super soggy while an easterly trickle kept it freezing here with a couple of more inches.  Pulled off an extra freezing max that day.

18z EPS mean is two degrees colder for surface temps than the 12z at day 6.  More snow for Seattle with the weekend system.  Good trends,
