my God, this forum has devolved into the worst of the worst. It's always emotional and reactionary in here, but it seems that the rational and seasoned members have pulled back to make way for the kids.
I'm going to step back for the day too. It's just too much uninformed nonsense.
I am excited for a lot of you guys, because it seems like this is your first time tracking a PNW winter storm. I remember my first time.
The toll in life and property was high yesterday. I drive through this area often going north to family on the Red River. We stop at the fuel station virtually every trip. This is the back of the station.

This rain event was a bust for parts of Iowa, particularly the south. I was at least able to get 0.51". Barely anything fell along and south of I-80. Models predicted 1+" for days. Heck, last night's RAP had a swath of 2+" through my area.
Just a few light showers this morning. 0.05”. Had the windows open when I went to bed so I could wake up to the sound of rain but the rain has been much too light.
