06z GFS Day 16

Beautiful pattern ruined by cutoff lows north of Hawaii. Either way, mother of all backdoor blasts as a PV lobe guns it SE into our area.

Speculation of course, but that could become a big time major snow pattern, and yeah bitter backdoor blast.

Yep, but it's a bit too far east. At least we have a strong block though. It could shift westward the next several frames.

Ensembles show a so-so signal for backdoor cold into Eastern Washington, Columbia Basin. That is an improvement. With the block in that location it would take very little to blast us with reload after reload. C'MON!!!!

Looking at the GFS ensemble, it looks like the GOA is a little to close to the west coast for us in the long range. Which does seem consistent with the EURO weeklies in that time frame.

Yes we don't want GOA to cause a DELHI (darned eternally-lasting high isobars) overhead.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Man alive, what a storm. Looks like at least 80% of Pennsylvania is under snowfall.

With winter officially canceled, maybe we should just play by plays of snow elsewhere. I'm sure everyone will enjoy it. @Phil how many meters of snow do you have?

So fun watching the rest of the country getting snowy holiday cheer while we get 43 degree drizzle!!! 🤩

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Sad that 3” is the heaviest snowfall I’ve seen in almost 2 years. 😂 I’d lick a pole if we reach 4”. Sleet line already breathing down my neck.

Is someone asking Santa for ripped abs this Christmas?

They could be a little better, but I do have an entire gym to myself as we are the only type of business currently not allowed to operate...    so that Christmas wish is coming true!

Ugh, I rather go from a rain event to snow rather then snow to rain.  I see the sleet and rain line pushing in :(

Enjoy the moment best you can
