Oof as Phil says, we have to wait til March for significant troughing.

I'm down for an April 5th, TR-2 inch, heavy snow that only sticks on the bark dust, rises 8 degrees after the precip stops, melts in 20 minutes..............snowstorm.

I love those.

29/41 for the day. Now 33˚F and falling.

Drove up to the snow line on Anderson Mountain this afternoon. Chickened out and parked as soon as the road got icy. My truck is 2WD and I didn't feel like installing chains. That was around 2,000' elevation. Walked up to 3,000', where there was about 3" on the ground and the temperature couldn't have been warmer than 30˚F. A beautiful sunny day with views of the lower Skagit Valley and the San Juan Islands. I was not the only person who had this idea; in fact, I don't think I have ever seen so many people there. Pics coming later.

It's called clown range for a reason.

The mood swings in here are something else. The vast majority of PNW blizzards were preceded by numerous winter cancels/uncancels on this site.

Seems this year will be no different.

Nope, it’s over. Stick a fork in it.

Sitting at 2,600+' in central OR now, I will always get the goods at some point.  I am happy with an inch or 2 overnight that melts.  Makes it easier to get around during the day.

It is fun watching Portlandiers try to navigate a trace of snow on Fremont bridge though.

Pics from Anderson Mountain. It did not feel warmer than 30°F at 3,000 feet, where I turned around, and was probably more like 28°F there.

I sometimes camp here. Toyed with the idea of doing a overnight, but decided against it. Just as well, as it enabled me to chicken out and park my 2WD truck before the road got icy. Didn’t feel like putting chains on.

Thanks. I sort of did it on a lark. It was a sunny day, so I wanted to get out and do something. Then the idea of heading to Anderson Mountain and doing some snow-line probing hit me. I wasn’t the only one with that idea: I have never seen as many people up there as I saw today. But it was crowded only in the relative sense; I was still alone most of the time. It is DNR land that really hasn’t been promoted for outdoor recreation. You have to know which roads to take; there are no signs like there are for the Blanchard Tract and Samish Overlook.

It's called clown range for a reason.
