the one problem is that every day the models are different

i see no consistency

when i see some consistency maybe i'll get excited

The GFS looks like it’s going somewhere good in the long range, but doesn’t.

CFS is a different story.

GFS for the second run in a row shows a very awkward pattern in the long range. Has a block too far west and a period of ridging/SW flow beforehand that drains Canada of all its Arctic air, before amplifying a large ridge right over the west part of the country. Could lead to retrogression in the future, but even a period of northerly "arctic" flow would just force south regurgitated/modified Pacific air were this run to verify. Which it won't.

Anyway, temp up to 36 after bottoming out at 32 a few hours ago.

You can look at the temperature graph and know when the offshore front started to move in and the wind shifted. It never got back down to freezing this evening, it was about 36F at 7pm with no wind. temps have gone up 3-4F since with a 2-4mph east wind. Currently 39.

Yeah, and right about Day 8.5-9 is where the Op remains rather progressive, but the ensembles consistently slow the NPAC down quickly.

Up to 36˚F now. Got down to 31 before breezes started mixing out the surface inversion.
