jakeinthevalley
Played 4 years of college ball at WOU (BACK then it was WOSC). Had offers from all of the smaller schools Came from a smaller town (Stayton) and it was certainly more difficult to get "noticed," although playing in Salem during the summer was better exposure. Never drafted (not much demand for a 5' 9" left hander that could hit but lacking speed to play outfield) but had an opportunity to play professionally in Australia. D**n girlfriend at the time, convinced me to not go as it was a two year contract with an off season job coaching at a national academy. My advice today would be to look at the JC route if your not getting offers. College teammate's son did that and is now pitching for OSU. He said it was a cool experience. Definitely think JC is the way to go as well. Some of the better programs in the region (Bellevue, Edmonds, Everett, Lower Columbia, Mt.
