The rain/snow line hugging the 546 thickness line looks pretty suspect to me. Hoping Wednesday night won't end up being phantom snow.

Pretty cold airmass in place though.

I’m getting heartburn watching the rain change to snow on my nest cam back home, while sitting next to a palm tree in FL. 😭

Mainly dealing with low level cold there..... Hence why column remains favorable for snowfall despite high thickness values. Pretty typical of overrunning events. In the plains you can get some wacky environments with thickness values (extrapolated to sea level) surpassing 552dam with snowfall.

February of last year brought us heavy powdery snowfall and a raging east wind with temps around 23F despite thickness values exceeding 528dam.

Unfortunately this is the type of front that kills the snowpack fairly quickly. Streets here are a slushy mess and grass can be seen now. At this rates, all the snow will be gone here by tomorrow morning.

It's not that warm though.

Pretty much all of it will be gone here in the morning. Don’t think it’ll be the last snow event this winter.

Pretty decent cold shot around the 8th is looking a little more likely now BTW.  The first third of the month will actually be pretty cold overall.

I totally get that, but even in those setups the rain/snow line usually hugs closer to 540 or 543 or so around here.  I still think we will see fairly widespread lowland snow Wednesday night though especially Snohomish County Northward.

We did not melt any snow today and now its dumping snow.    I really like it much better when everyone has snow.   By tomorrow there will be nothing in Issaquah and well over 2 feet on the ground here.    This is starting to feel like February 2019.

Speaking of being our winter.  North Bend has just killed it so far.  Below freezing out there tonight.  They had a decent event before everyone else in December also.

Every snow lover in King County should live as close to North Bend as possible.

It doesn't sting too bad this time.  We just had an amazing run of winter.

Super heavy rain from about 5pm till 11pm than it turned to snow when I wasn't looking.  Roads were snow free thanks to plows today, but now the snow is covering the roads and the ground is getting new snow again here in Everett.  Granted it is very wet snow, but it is progressively coming down slower and less heavily.  32F exactly.  At sea level.

How long will the snow last?

This winter has been exceptionally good there though.  Even that area can get some stinkers.

If it makes you feel any better, it’s a real melt-a-thon in Vancouver tonight, too.

Getting very close to an inch here at 500 feet in South Everett. Great to hear it's sticking there at sea level too.

I was surprised the snow wasn't all that slushy here when I went out for a walk. Went from too wet to stick to perfect snowball making snow in a matter of minutes.

That is great!  Everyone is talking about rain, which it was pretty much all day here, so it's sort of a surprise to see it snowing again here and sticking again.  I know it won't last, but it's fun! :D  Snow is actually heavy right now, but not coming down fast like rain.  It's coming down like snow and the road is now completely white again in a new layer of fresh snow!!

A decent amount of snow mixed in now, but still not there.  32.2

At least we avoided ZR....or mostly will.

Rain turned to a solid Rain/Snow mix in downtown Bellevue. Was nice to see that.

It appears there are heavy bands of precipitation still being thrown our way and these are taking a slightly more southern track, so we could be in for some of this all snow business into the early hours..

Not really a ZR situation... usually temps have to be in the 20s for serious ice accumulations.

The snow is actually very close to your area.   Highway 18 near Maple Valley is snow covered.
