I had a 1955 Rambler with 3 on the column. What was unique about it is there was a vacuum leak, which prevented the wipers from working properly. In order to remove water, I had to put in the clutch which allowed the wipers to move toward the middle of the windshield. In order to get the wipers to come down, I had to pull a string which I tied to the wiper itself. Fortunately. it doesn't rain much in Boise. But it got exciting when it did rain and I had somewhere to go. 2 1

But it got exciting when it did rain and I had somewhere to go. That's awesome! Friend of mine had an old FJ40 Landcruiser with wipers that were operated via a combination of the factory switch and a some percussive persuasion (pounding the motor case with her fist.) It was all fun and games until she hit it just right one time and cracked the windshield. Very fun vehicle, and the very first purchase I would be making if I ever won the lottery. We had the doors off one night and got caught in a huge thunderstorm (this was in Atlanta). Got soaked but a very fun memory. 3 Britton Rd Bellingham Weather Station: https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KWABELLI103?cm_ven=localwx_pwsdash
