06z euro has a peak gust of 43 at Tacoma narrows…they just gusted to 43mph and this is just getting started really. Might want to add 10-15mph to that wind map at this point.

The Euro always seems to be on the low end when it comes to wind for whatever reason.

They are not accounting for the the surge to come in far enough through the strait like what usually always happens. I think today will be quite the wildcard. Nobody seems to have a good handle on what kind of wind speeds we will be looking at. Fun!!

The westerly surge would be this evening as the lowest pressures move east of the cascades

Was driving on I-5 south near Tualatin a few minutes ago. There is a big semi truck completely on its side and blocking all northbound lanes on I-5.

No wind here at all, but picked up over 0.6” of 33-34 degree rain since midnight. Not a lot of snow melt since the ground is cold and temps are near freezing.

Also should be wetter than normal for the new water year by tomorrow as well.    Making up lots of ground this week.

SEA is making up for Oct/Nov which were wetter up here than in the city. This month I'm only at 2.72" still with a strong rain shadow up here looking to continue for the foreseeable future.

HWY 214 between Silverton and Salem closed due to power poles down on the road. That part of the valley is very open and essentially a wind tunnel in these situations.

What a stormy night! The highest gust last night was 45mph. Winds seems to died down at the moment. We are still under a WA till 4pm today. Some places around Jackson county have lost power but looks like very minimal.

I had a 34.2 at 8:24am. Biggest so far. Made breakfast for the fam, and have some chili in the crockpot. Even if we lose power, I can plug that into the generator and we still have a hot dinner.

PSE map already shows a bunch of outages near Lawrence Lake. I'm at work but hoping power is on when I get home.

Not super impressive, but seems pretty in line with the rest of the region so far here. Probably have touched 45mph a few times with some of these gusts.

It appears our stronger gusts are forecast to arrive about noonish-- so this first wave is definitely as expected I suppose.
