06z GFS is a dream. Multiple rounds of strong, WHET thunderstorms. Beautiful lightning displays without the fire danger, as well as warm, pleasant afternoons.

Probably my favorite warm season pattern aside from outright troughing and unseasonably cool weather.

I share your enthusiasm about T-Storms…However this forum member strongly disagrees.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

The only time mine is allowed on the bed is during thunderstorms. He didn't mind them until we had a strike hit a tree in my yard while we were on the porch. Now he wants nothing to do with them.

Not a great picture but the hills around Wenatchee are very green now!
Currently 65 over here. Was 42 and foggy when I left Stanwood this morning.

5 am thunderstorm outbreak. I love the instability we are seeing in the models.image.thumb.png.9a95275189f1372667b1b11c6ec40a2c.png

Perfect set up for convection next week with SE flow aloft and a deep trough offshore.

Saw a friends Snapchat story who lives in Ashland, OR and it was of a fire that appears to be burning in the hills.

Must be a dormant grass fire or something because it's been insanely wet down there.   If the forest starts burning on one of the first sunny days in April after all this wet weather then there is literally no hope.  😀

Medford has actually been running drier than average MTD.

Very different climate down there than even Eugene. Small brush fires aren't too unusual down there in these conditions.

He said he thinks it’s a controlled fire though he’s not 100% sure. Hopefully this isn’t a sign of what’s to come.

Best westside convection setup since 2019 coming up?

Is this looking better than the setup last June? I think it was the first few days of it.

Where's Jim?

He take the spring and early summer off almost every year.   Then usually comes back in July to start ramping up for winter.

No idea what is wrong with the ECMWF... but it only shows 61 at SEA today (yesterday was 67) and Sunday is actually a little warmer after the marine push.     And 68 tomorrow?    All time April record?   🤔

It seems like its cold bias is actually getting worse.

ecmwf-deterministic-KSEA-daily_tmin_tmax-2575200.png

67 for a high at SEA today... but might end up at 68 for an official high.   So the ECMWF from just a few hours ago was at least 6 degrees too cold for today.   You can pretty much count on it being 5 degrees too cold or more on sunny days from now until October.  At least its consistent.

Topped out at 63F at my place today.  This morning was foggy but it is clear and all blue sky around.  Notably brown looking air towards the north and Cascade crest.  Not sure what that is about.  Air quality is supposedly great right now.

The sky looks exceedingly brown and orange to the north and toward the Cascades.  Is that smog?  None of the air pollution monitors show poor quality air.

The sky was very milky in Wenatchee today, could have been the prescribed burns going on? Not sure.
