I definitely remember him. He had a website and YouTube and claimed to be a meteorologist. Got a link for that?

NWS Medford made a post how smoke is missing this year. Actually they posted only 08/17 comparison (since 2013) but this is what I believe - 2019 is the least smokiest year since before our drought. 

 

I mean how many days has it been since we had poor air quality? For August this is impressive.

September is rarely all that smokey for me, not sure if K-Falls is different in that realm.

While I agree it’s still been really nice thus far compared to the last 6 yrs here. Still barely any rain but the fires are not a problem to this point and it feels different this year.

Pretty impressive southward penetration of the marine layer this morning. The Willamette and even Lower Umpqua Valleys appear to be filled in on the visible.

Its slowly coming out.   

 

The grass along the roads is still very green here which is unusual for mid-August.   And with more rain coming... it will not be drying out at all this year.

Looks like we might get 0.25-0.5” of rain here on Wednesday but the summer will still end up easily drier than normal

Seems like July and August would have been better months for maintenance. Maybe they held off since it’s been so wet.

What a wonderful day for a golf outing yesterday morning in the Cascade foothills. Had a 7:30am tee time and it was 51 degrees with the sweet smell of the dew on the dormant grasses, little patches of ground fog and the ripe blackberries adding to the fragrance as the sun climbed higher. Felt like Fall is just around the corner. I know, I know, it was August 18!
