Really worried about about the future of the Willamette Valley. All the grass will burn one day 😔

As the earth warms it might not be a bad idea to just divert the ocean into the WV. Would provide jobs. Make a good inland sea and cool down the area.

Nice day. Absolute perfect temp today up at Samish Island with a sea breeze. Was nice early this evening at the lake house as well. People parked way better on our private road than past 4th’s, usually both sides are filled with drunk made up parking spots!
82/53 on the day. Currently 72 back here at home base.

BLI 79!

Made it to 84 IMBY, which is about 4-5 miles inland.  Took my son up to CYVR this morning, and when I hit the Peace Arch (which is right on the water) at about 10:30, it was 70 degrees.  About 2-3 miles south of the border (and a few miles away from the water the temp jumped to 77, and was 80 by the time I got to my house.

Fark, I gotta be up at 4 for work and don’t sound like the fireworks here are stopping any time soon. Trying to sleep.  Send help. 😭

They are going to lose all the ash trees too. D**n ash borer .

Ash borers already wiped them all out here. No survivors.

And they get brittle fast once they die. Winter winds knocked them all down the first year. They look like matchsticks on the forest floor, all laid out in the same NW to SE direction.

O the snow, the beautiful snow!
Filling the sky and the earth below!
Over the house-tops, over the street,
Over the heads of the people you meet,
Dancing, Flirting, Skimming along.
Beautiful snow! it can do nothing wrong.

60 degrees this morning with the a pronounced fireworks haze. Truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Looks pretty nasty on the Space Needle cam this morning... seems to be trapped at the low levels near the Sound.    Not much haze out here though.   Hopefully it mixes out around the Sound once the wind picks up this morning.

In terms of wildfire smoke... it does not look too bad in BC this morning so that is good news.    ECMWF also shows a decent SW wind by Friday with the marine layer making it inland for a few hours.

Low of 65º here this morning, while EUG made it down to 55º.

Penalty of living in the foothills. I make up for it in borderline cold onshore snow events, though 😁

EUG’s 5 min obs are down for now but it appears to already be in the mid-70s so another 90F burger is looking likely.

Almost 3 months of this left. I’m guessing we will be well into the defensive backs and running backs by the end.

I really hope we don’t get to linebackers and centers…
