We are at about 7" on the month now. By early next week we should be up around the monthly average of 11.5". As @TT-SEA says, looks to dry out quite a bit at that point. We never actually made it to average in November, maybe we will this month.

Well since the normal detour road to Redmond when 124th closes in the valley which is west snoqualmie valley road, is closed due to a landslide. That means people have to take woodinville-Duvall road to Avondale and go to Redmond through there. That’s quite the detour.

Highway 18 is also completely shut down this evening. Semi truck hydroplaned and rolled over on the raging river. I was able to talk to WSP to get into our jobsites but it’s not fun trying to get around issaquah and snoqualmie with the heavy rain and shut down roads.

2.22” of rain today and 3.33” storm total in Tacoma. We’re getting close to the end of the storm I think up here in snoqualmie. One of our ponds is about 3” from the overflow point so I hope we don’t have any big bursts of heavy rain in the next couple hours. I do Think we will make it though.

The operational models really try to shut down the Pacific during week two.  If that ULL that is trying to close off to the west of us around day 10 gets shoved south of us that might allow things to get chilly around here for a while.

What is happening down there has to be the biggest surprise so far.  We are not in a typical Nino pattern yet.

This just doesn't feel like 2002 at all.  We had crazy east wind here that season and this year it has been dead.

0.27" today and 1.79" on the month. Obviously it's still quite early in December, but the drying trend late this week is setting my area up for another below average month. The good news is, if any areas needed rain they certainly got it this past couple days and here it's really only stats.

Also, as I predicted, the Skagit River crest forecast got revised way downwards. It crested just above major flood stage in Concrete a couple hours ago and will likely see some minor to moderate flooding in Mount Vernon, but nothing like what was forecast. It was pretty clear the pattern just wasn't going to produce that extreme of flooding, although the dams upriver may have also mitigated the impacts.

GFS is bullish on Saturday snow for areas west of Puget sound and up through southern Vancouver island.  It shows 925mb temps of -2 to -3C with precip.

Given how wet the first third of the month will end up, that's pretty much a no-brainer. Months that are end to end wet are quite rare.
