Fingers crossed for February.

It made a slight wobble south. I have a feeling we could see a little snow down to about Albany if this trend holds. GFS is still a little further north than other models with the low.

This run has incredible amounts of ice for the Central and South Valley. I think folks from about Salem to Eugene need to hope at least some of that ends up as sleet.

Meanwhile just outside of town where I live we have a little snow still in the grass. Roads froze completely the last hour and the county isn’t on it. Lots of cars sliding off the road

Haha. Just give him a flurry at least.  This front is going to be pretty cool.  Victoria is forecast to hit 14F with a strong outflow tonight.  Parts of the city haven’t even had a freeze yet this winter.  Talk about a shock.

I’m just excited to see something like this finally happen even if we don’t get snow. I’ve seen arctic fronts but this is probably the most potent one in my lifetime.

Meltdown forecast is looking great!!! 😂

I have accepted it, just needed to get it out of my system this morning after what little snow chances I had in the model world for today completely vanished as well. Worse case scenario came true. Cold without snow is not magical, it’s just another ordinary day.

I'm not sure where I'm at in the 7 or 8 stages of grief. Probably mourning with some anger mixed in. So much time investing tracking this thing. Yesterday there was some hope, but overnight it vanished like Pacific moisture meeting a dry air mass.  Not even the possibility of virga.  Anyway, enjoy your snow Portland.  Sure hope Tiger gets a sub-freezing high.

I’m just excited that I once owned a choice vintage bottle of Dom Perignon, even if my psycho ex poured it down the toilet and I didn’t get to drink any of it.

Slightly colder in the WV on Monday according to the GFS. Don't even think about temps above freezing.

If the more northern GFS/GEM tracks win out then I'm looking at 1-2" of ZR up here too. You can see it on this map.

Not good, 2021 repeat ice devastation

Honestly it could be worse. Hopefully the places that got it in 2021 will be more snow/sleet this time, but someone is going to get annihilated. Once again I think the ice is going to be the big story.
