Not sure what Andrew did, but SLE (like SEA) has been able to turn the corner on their anomalies. About to record their second below normal month in the past three, and also has two other months in the past 12 that were at or below normal.

A few years ago it seems they were running even warmer anomalies than PDX.

And then the station of the gods...while OLM once reliably led the way every year with below normal months, they will be above normal this month, and have only one other month besides January in the last twelve that was below normal: April 2023.

This is the same as PDX. So @Cascadia_Wx, they've had two months in the past 12 below normal, not just January.

The January numbers shocked me. They've overachieved so ridiculously on highs I never really imagined they would have a max high of 23 with that event.

Sure, but the writing’s already on the wall that April 2024 is gonna be a warm one.

I'm curious, what's the coldest high temp and low temp for everyone this year, total snowfall, and largest Snow event?

-7 low here which is maybe slightly cooler than our average coldest low, coldest high of 2 which was a midnight high, daytime high was -1 that day. 84" seasonal snow total (so far), largest 24hr event of 21" but it was probably more than that, because fluffy sub zero snow compacts VERY easily.

8 degrees for a low and I believe I had an 18 degree high during the boring January event.
4” was my greatest 24hr snowfall which was just a few weeks ago.
Total snowfall 9”

Summer 2000 or 2001 repeat would be nice, 2011 if we're being more reasonable. Or 1993 if we're choosers.

Those were the nicest summers in the last 125+ years here. I think we had something like 10-15 days total that were 90°F+, and they were low/mid 90s.

Hard to believe that even happened. Looking back at the weather pattern in those years it looks completely foreign to everything I’ve come to know over the last 2 decades.

I think I had a 7/16 day last January. And a foot of snow on the trailing edge of that same cold snap.

I would have to say the South Sound is better. I always love going to Dash Point Beach whenever I go up there.

If you haven’t done so yet check out Point Defiance area now in Tacoma.  The whole water front unbelievable.  Restaurants galore as well.  One of my favorite hang outs now!

That much is obvious.   He obsesses over it all the time... transplants and other BS.

And guilty conscious?  Hardly.  My wife and I left MN with $2,000 in the bank and an old Pontiac.   She put herself through college by signing up to be a nurse in the Navy which is why went to San Diego after college.  I paid for my own college by working every weekend.   2 years after leaving MN we bought our first house in San Diego.   I was obsessed with the weather when I was 3 years old.   Walking around the backyard in the snow and narrating my own forecasts.   By 5... I could free-hand draw the map of the US which I would use in my forecasts I presented to my parents.   I was born being fascinated with the weather.  😀

Funny to think that we had similar childhoods, but one of us grew up to be an evil sun loving robber baron who lives a gilded lifestyle that is tucked away in a princely chalet, while the other is an ice storm loving revolutionary willing to die for the people.

Genosser, a true Trotskyite would understand that the reactionary is flawed from birth and cannot be saved as their continued existence is a parasitic one to the cause of the people. In order to liberate the worker, you must liberate the reactionary of their earthly existence. It is only then that when they find their personal burdens freely painted onto a brick wall, that they can find their true place in a global revolution.

Such is life!

But not sure how you define gilded.  We drive old cars and have never bought new in our lives... our vacations consist of a Costco run at the start and joining my wife on paid business trips when she is a presenter... our date nights are usually at the sushi place in the strip mall by Safeway... we do all our own yardwork and gardening... and we are currently paying large sums of money to support aging parents.

What we did was roll all our equity into a piece of land and built this house as cheap as possible over two decades ago and have slowly made improvements as money became available.  It was a good investment.   My dad was a teacher and my wife's dad was a plumber.   We don't come from money and don't live like we have money.

But I apologize for my life long fascination with weather.   Its really just me trying to control nature with my immense wealth.  😀

Rain should be a little more scattered today... then it turns mostly sunny by tomorrow through Tuesday.   A well-timed 5-day stretch of nice weather centered over the weekend.   Blessings... as Andrew says hundreds of times a week.

Had a -5/-21 day during the January event that is both lowest high and low for the year. I believe the biggest single snow was 8” coming out of the deep freeze. We’ve had about 50” for the season, which is a bit below average, but it’s been unusual in that it’s melted quickly after every event except for during the January cold spell. Usually there’s snow on the ground almost continuously from November/December to March.

Real non commie talk for a moment, anyone thinking, much less expending any mental energy or anguish over the perceived notion of your “unjust wealth” hasn’t been paying attention to you and the forum for the past decade, or they’re just an asshole. I appreciate your warm map enthusiasm and pictures of your garden plots.

Hell, if I could get my wife to be ok with living more than five miles away from downtown Everett, we’d probably be neighbors.
