PSA:
The NWS always appreciates observations, especially detailed observations that everyone on here is capable of giving. That can be done thru Twitter, as they often set up a feed for that, or the mPing app. That can include final snowfall amounts, when the snow starts/stops, precip type, dew point, etc
This helps them with short term forecasts as well as future forecasts as they can learn from them. A few years ago they had a freezing rain advisory for Leavenworth, but I notified
The official H/L yesterday was 78/53 there was 0.15” of rainfall the sun was out 34% of the possible time. The highest wind gust was 23 MPH out of the W. For today the average H/L is 66/45 the record high of 89 was set in 1959 the record low of 28 was set in 1983. The most rainfall of 1.73” fell in 1976 the most snowfall of 0.3” fell in 1954. Last year the H/L was 73/46.
The overnight low here in MBY was 53 there was 0.07” of rainfall. The current temperature is 53 with cloudy skies.
Just squeaked out 1.01" on the day to go with 1.03" yesterday for rare consecutive 1"+ days. I've never seen that in May before, and could find only 2 instances in the EUG historical record (looks like they didn't make it to an inch today).
Up to 32.5" on the water year (Oct. 1 to date), which is close to normal and a big improvement on last year's ~26" at this point.
