One of my favorites back in the day was Jim Little. Met him one time at PDX airport and he was super nice.

-3.7 here. Looks like 0/-22 for today.

I really liked him! He was really good back in the day.

Anyone remember Larry Rice on Kiro back in the 90s? Dude would do a “Long Ranger” for the 5 day or 7 day forecast and he definitely had a snow bias. Like the opposite of Rich Marriot

I do! I have VHS recordings of Komo, King, Kiro, KSTW, and NWCN of the January, November, and December 1996 events. I believe Larry Rice was part of that mix!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Mark Nelson used to be very enthusiastic about snow and cold. I think he changed in 2008. It was very hard going for people in east county areas that year especially in Corbett. That was the year the Corbett woman killed her husband and put his body in the burn barrel. I think the weather that year just pushed her over the edge.

This is the darkest take on 2008 I have ever heard.

That’s crazy! Yes….they really have done a nice job improving the area. I still belong to the local neighborhood FB group down there as well.  It’s my home ❤️

Does anyone here remember when we'd see massive snow totals in the "long range" 5 day forecasts back in 1989-1990? Most of them never materialized, but I remember seeing 4-6" or 8-12" in the long term waaaay more than we ever do now (which is never). I assume this is when mets started getting access to the types of models we obsess over today, because now the "8-12" in 5 days" excitement is exclusive to forums like this one, lol.

Then again, we actually did have a few big events during that time period so maybe they were just legit good forecasts.

You should read up on the case. The woman originally said they met up with an man to buy a boat and the man kidnapped him but then it came out that they found his body of their property. She had put up with years of abuse. I just think that winter was too much and she couldn't take it. There was also a sensational trial. You should look it up.

Anyone remember Ray Ramsey on KOMO?  He was a great weather personality for 20 years with his plaid jackets and wisecracking jokes.

We've all done it. I used to pour water on the windshield of the car for a smooth surface to check for a snow splat. We're all fuked up on here.

As a young lad being driven home by my mom after elementary school, I would have her drive different routes home so I could see the water draining on the sides of the street. Of course she obliged in stride, the excellent human being she is.
