HRRR is drying the system out. 20z only has 2-4" across Iowa at 5am. Still snowing sure, but a massive decrease from earlier runs, and it's a trend.

Geez.  The HRRR is really quite weak and disheveled with the deformation zone.  Down to 0.30" in CR?  Yikes!

season snowfall: 34.8"

'22-23: 30.2"      '21-22: 27.1"      '20-21: 52.5"      '19-20: 36.2"      '18-19: 50.2"      '17-18: 39.5"

Average snowfall: ~30"

Nice band of snow (I’m assuming) developing around Cedar Rapids.

The problem is the band is just southeast of the city and the wind is coming from the nne.  We need the band to be in/north of the city.

Yeah, I do see some development to the north as well. Hopefully it all continues to fill in.

The HRRR doesn’t look super great, but it didn’t perform well in western Iowa/Nebraska did it?

Seems as if the globals may have performed better over there, but I could be wrong.

WWA headline extended an additional 8 hrs. Looks like WAA won't be as robust north of the border with IN as originally expected. Now IWX's headline reads like mine did 24 hrs ago. Always nice when things trend for the better

Some early reports are coming out on the snow that has already fallen today... 2.3 in Papillion and 2.0 in Lincoln. Looks like a general area of 2-3 inches of snow from just west of Lincoln right up the Interstate 80 corridor into Omaha. An additional 1-3 inches of snow certainly looks possible through the rest of the day in these same areas.

I'm stuck in a subsidence band right now in IC. Not sure how much this will cut into totals, but I'm sure it will at least a little bit. Looks to continue as well.

HRRR continues it for the next 3-4 hours. Absolutely awesome!

2021-22 Snowfall: (Hiawatha)

TOTAL: 10.2"

Snow here in SEMI currently w a couple of inches of snow expected b4 switching to ice and then plain rain by tomorrow am. Burbs of north of Detroit should be in the ice much longer, so I need to watch for any power outages in my area. I simply hate ice. Hopefully, the warm air arrives quickly and changes everything to rain.

Btw: Absolutely brutal, arctic air arriving mid week next week after the snowevent potential Sun-Mon. Colder than the one just experienced. The extended looks very snowy.
