VancouverIslandSouth
I was in Victoria last night and it was howling around 10 to 11pm. Looks like Trial Island gusted to nearly 80mph It was far more worthy of a wind warning here than what we got on Friday. I recorded a gust of 42mph last night, the strongest of the season so far. Not bad for an inland location.

Frontal Snowsquall
Earlier this year we had a SSW event with a subsequent SPV occurring mid February. Portland got four inches, but in subtropical balmy Tigard we didn’t even see the ground fully covered. Besides that event, last winter was warmish-average with below normal snowpack and fairly uneventful except for the Christmas Eve ice storm, which I missed because I was in Central Oregon and saw way more snow. Not a complete dud like 02-03 or 14-15, but not a super eventful winter either.
