Can confirm. I'm high enough here to be at the top of the fog layer in the morning the past few times, but everywhere else I'm delving right into the fog and frost/ice to get anywhere. Looking forward to my drive in the morning (not).

Already down to the 20s here in Ravensdale. I’ve had heavy frost in my yard for a week now. Looks like it snowed. It’s been fun.

I’ve gotten more optimistic that the mountains will come out of this storm cycle with enough snow to get all of the ski areas open. The Friday-Saturday storm is a classic snow producer that should net 12-18 inches in most places. Sunday’s storm has most of the precip falling ahead of the warm front and with cold air already in place the passes will probably hold out for a while on Sunday before flipping to rain. 

Next Tuesday’s storm is a big fat pineapple, but fresh deep snow can handle a couple inches of rain and cold reinforcements will arrive mid-next week with potentially another snow producer later next week.

27 at Boeing Field.  One of the colder readings west of the Cascades right now.  Weird.

Seepage of drier air from the passes must be the culprit.

Cold is cold.  Even our coldest winters have some fake cold episodes thrown in.

My biggest fear this season is being able to get moisture and cold air at the same time though.  It might just continue the warm blast of rain followed by long periods of cold and dry regime.

If I had to guess maybe the fog is so dense down there it's keeping temperatures up? It looks like many of the stations in that area are also around 35F.

Here it's 28F which makes for the 10th freeze of the month and 16th of the season. This is the most I've recorded through the end of November after last year's 15. Glad there's some more exciting weather coming up than counting freezes.

Only got down to 34 this morning with thick fog in Tacoma. The freeways are a living nightmare this morning in the south sound with some of the worst traffic I’ve seen in awhile…it should not take over 2 hours to get from federal way to Seattle

I agree. The middle two weeks of this month were kind of purgatory, warm, not super dry, but not super wet, just warm cloudy and drippy. Ugh. Now if it’s going to be active and warm that’s fine by me.

Thankfully I was not trying to get to Seattle this morning…but it still took almost an hour to get to Covington. The fog was just really bad this morning so it really snarled the commute. Most of the time I work places where it’s only a 30-45 minute commute home.

We got down to 27F. It's pretty interesting what the variability is between here and the airport.
