Thought I was losing my mind. Can’t access from home laptop (xfinity) only on phone on 5G and a completely different network. Weird

Can you ping? What do you get when you curl it?

The frustratingly short 18z Euro is starting now. It only goes out to Tuesday morning, but who knows. Maybe we can get something from it.

Phil will be able to extrapolate beyond hour 90 with his alphabet soup if you need him to. 😉

Had to undo a MySQL patch. The site is being hit by what I can assume are LLM crawlers for ByteDance and CommonCrawl, all at once. They're hitting some older pages that are causing a stuck pid. Drained traffic, did the roll back, checked, and here we are.

Phil?

Does anyone know what the threshold is for hazardous temps?

I would love to see some hazardous temperatures. In Dec 2013, we had some diamond dust in Eugene. That was pretty sweet. I've only ever seen that in the mountains or central Oregon.

Daily minimum temperatures less than the 15th percentile, or near freezing or sub-freezing temps. But I believe it's also up to some interpretation as is seen fit as well.

Anybody else here leave Christmas lights up at least through the first couple weeks of January?  I do it just in case there are some good snows, which we may get this year.

I was gonna take mine down this weekend, but I’m waiting this year

I usually try to leave them up until mid January or the first snow, whichever happens later. That means I've sometimes had them up into March, when I've been forced to take them down without snow. I usually turn them off though by late January unless there's snow coming.

850s get brutally cold on this GFS run.  Way below -30 over the North Cascades.  This run spits out a -40 for Winthrop.

It's going to be pretty hard to shank this one now.  The point of no return pattern is so close.

We're gonna get something. Most likely it will be meh compared to Western WA. But enough to at least call this winter not a total bust. Hopefully, it won't be ZR.

Yes. I saw the ZR in my corner in the clown range of the GFS and I held my breath. It gives me a couple of days with it. If I had to guess it will end up being rain but still something to watch as we have family driving those days.
