Somethings brewing here. Looks more ominous in the photo than in real life though.

I haven’t been watching Saturday too closely. Is that the anafrontal type setup?

That's more Thursday, but it's looking a little too progressive to give us an isothermal situation down to the valley floor. Andrew may see some blessings still.

Friday-Sunday has the ULL swinging around the region and looks ripe for a little more organized shower activity and maybe some deformation zone action. Anything occurring between 6pm-10am on those days stands a good chance of bringing accumulations.

NWS Spokane:

Tonight and Tuesday: Cold 500 mb height temperatures have created
enough instability for snow showers with graupel to develop this
afternoon. High resolution models show the showers continuing
through the evening and then waning.

Using the ECMWF... the time for the Seattle area for accumulating snow is before 7 p.m. today.     This is the 7 p.m. today through 7 p.m. tomorrow map.

Looks like oak, cypress, juniper, and cedar with high pollen counts in Seattle area this week. Our old house would have our car COVERED in yellow starting in February from our neighbors'  tree. Somehting in that cedar/juniper/cypress family. Or maybe a spruce? Seems like the evergreens go first, then alder and maple, then later is cottonwood. It lssts so many months!

Is this really your first snow of the winter?

Yup. Even during our big nonevent event, the shower that would have brought snow ended up missing us to the south. There was a skiff of snow just a couple blocks away.

Hope the 18z brings more coverage. That looks pathetic

In terms of the main action for the Seattle area and the talk of a southward placed c-zone... I think its happening right now.

Poor timing. Had it waited 6 hrs there would be some nice accumulation

Just for fun... the ECMWF for Minneapolis.   I saw talk of crazy swings on facebook so had to check it out.   The warm days are record warm for them this time of year.
