The stronger arctic front is a step towards the Euro and will suck the low pressure north in feature runs.

A stronger arctic push could suppress the low.

Hey man, I'm still trying to get rid of some of mine as well. I'm far from the most mature person on the forum and I do often show it in my posts, but my genuine interest in weather makes me continue posting frequently.

What was up with your friend from the other forum? Although in your defense it seemed like you didn't condone his antics.

We need to get the snow dance under way so this thing trends north!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Speaking to the power of this airmass. My old home of Bartlesville, Oklahoma went below freezing at 6pm on Saturday evening and their warmest forecast high through next Monday is 24. The forecast for Sunday is 14/-2. If that verified it would be the coldest they've had a max that low this late in the season, and tied for their 3rd coldest max on record in February. If they manage to hit -2 it would also be their latest sub-zero reading on record. Pretty impressive forecast considering they have no snow cover.

I would like to request a serving of the Hi-Res NAM. 3" would make me quite happy going into this cold snap. 34/28 outside currently.

QBO doesn't matter now?

The QBO is actually in-between right now, westerlies 50mb/descending easterly shear. And it’s through shear stress that the majority  of seasonal scale correlations arise.

I’ve got you beat by a country mile on that front. There’s nothing wrong with your posts.

Interesting...Down to 31 and yet the frogs are quite loud!

30˚F here and none to be heard (and I live on the edge of a wetland greenbelt). They are doubtless burrowing down in the mud at the base of their pond—as they should be. Their little froggie pond is gonna freeze over soon.

It's called clown range for a reason.

They're just sounding the alarm. They know their home will be frozen in a week.

That’s legit. One heck of a pattern for sure.

We’ll be riding the baroclinic gradient so should make for some prolonged winter weather here as well. Pretty much everywhere except Florida can score in this pattern.

I just noticed this last night too...frogs were going craZy!!

Birds were going crazy on our bird feeder the last 2-3 days. Emptied the whole thing when previously it took a month. That commonly happens before bouts of cold weather or before a strong weather system.
