I ended up with 51/35 for Monday for a -10 departure.  We could be looking at something like 52/30 for Tuesday.

Currently 35.2 and still falling pretty steadily.

Man when was the last time we had an anomaly distribution quite like this one? 🤨

I'm skeptical for the NW.  The models show troughing returning fairly quickly after the ridge.  We will still have cold nights during the ridge also.

Kind of weird how that is dead opposite what you would expect with a Nina though.

In the 35-37 degree range out here... in the valley as well.    Does not seem to be any frost.   Our dahlias and roses will continue to bloom longer it appears.

Just noticed that there is actually some frost on top of the car in driveway.   Maybe it was colder before and warming up now.   The North Bend station bottomed out this morning at 35.4 degrees.

The lowest we have gotten so far is 35, I didn't have to deal with any frost on my commute to work (from downstairs to my office upstairs) but looks like there is a little frost on the roof of my neighbor's house.  I tried letting the puppy out to run off some energy before I started working and she was having none of that.  She went charging out the door, got to the bottom of the steps, and decided she wasn't so interested in playing outside after all LOL!

Just woke up and our thermometer outside is showing 32F. I'm guessing it probably fell to about thirty last night.

Just saw this picture on FB, full credit to Randy Small, Whatcom County Weather FB page:

And sunrises usually aren't too impressive with Squalicum Mountain to my immediate east, but this one was pretty amazing.  Quality is not the best as it is taken through my "office" window, but the colors were amazing.

This was posted on our local Facebook page... they hiked up Rattlesnake Ledge last night.   That is looking over North Bend to the north.    Obviously a professional photographer so this was probably a high end camera with long exposure.

33 here this morning.  Feels like a typical fall morning when the skies are clear. Nothing top tier though.

20 and solid ice would be to tier.

Getting this cold in the first half of October is fairly impressive but not really top tier. I’d already had a freezing low temp on the 10th of October in 2019 still no freeze yet here looks like I’ll be waiting a while longer.

Tacoma WA elevation 300’

Monthly rainfall-3.56”

Warm season rainfall-11.14”

Max temp-88

The aurora in Whatcom County was quite bright when I checked a little after 11:00 pm. No camera and long exposure needed to see it. I rushed in to text a few of my friends and it had faded a lot by the time I went back out to look a few minutes later. Five or ten minutes after that and it became totally invisible to the naked eye. Fun while it lasted, and glad I decided to check that one last time before going to bed.

SLE has an impressive-3.7 departure so far this month, but one doesn’t have to look back far to find a colder start to October.
