Gonna end up a +1.1°F departure today and around a +3°F tomorrow. Good for a -2°F monthly departure. Not bad!

Got that DJF below avg trifecta. Much, much different than much of the rest of the west coast.

We did OK this winter.  If we can just get January on board one of these years...

Holy rain batman!

Over 3.5 inches here since yesterday morning and 1.5 inches just since midnight.

SEA is at 2.21 inches for this event and now over 3 inches for the month and will probably lock in a wetter than normal February by noon today... and the heavy rain will continue through this evening.

OLM is over 2.50 inches for this event and already .76 on the day.

Euro looks pretty chilly this time next week. Pretty chilly in early March is low to mid 40s though. Takes something somewhat special to get the goods in the lowlands by this time of year.

I’m at about .40 since yesterday morning!
It is currently dumping though.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Wow pretty rare occasion that I might actually end up with more precip than you this month.

SEA is now at 1.05 since midnight... and 3.40 inches on the month.     Normal rainfall for February is 3.79 inches... and should pass that easily this morning.

I’m at 2.59” for the month, much of that was snow melt through the gauge.

I'm glad @TT-SEA finds it as hilarious as I do that February will end up wetter than normal in western WA due to today, despite the overwhelmingly dry nature of this month. January faced a similar conundrum, instead during the beginning of the month, and not all in one day!

Already 1.03" just a third of the way through the day (8am/16z), with even heavier rain settling in. KSEA could feasibly meet or surpass their entire average February precipitation total in a single day. The hell man

Ignoring the strange timing of the rain events... SEA will likely be well over +6 inches for the water year after today.    So no matter how you slice it... it has been a very wet fall and winter in the Seattle area.

Side note... SEA finished 2021 with 43.33 inches of rain which is also well above normal.

Doing some quick math and assuming SEA ends up with at least 4.25 inches for February (only need another .73 so this is conservative)... this will end up being the 6th or 7th wettest fall/winter period ever at SEA.     The top dog was 1950-51 with 40.19 inches.     This year will likely end up around 34.50 inches for Sept-Feb period.

And in the south valley we're right back to being several inches below normal for the water year. It gets worse every year.

This wet season has been a tale of two parts, from a very wet September through early January, to a nearly record breakingly dry 50 day-ish period since. As for temperatures, it's been refreshing to see deep Arctic air in December not immediately answered by torching. Got pretty used to that since 2012.

This has been the coolest winter up this way since 2016-17, and even that winter torched hard in November. The one warm month this Sept-Feb wet season (Nov) just edged mild, not very torchy. La Niña has lived up to its name here.
