1.60” now. Think we will be breaking a daily rainfall record for February today.  It’s dumping out here on the peninsula. 2.5” in 24 hours in Tacoma and 53 degrees.

SEA is at 1.77 inches for the day as of noon... and 4.12 inches for February.       About 12 times as much rain now as compared to the driest February ever in 1993.

That’s a pretty nice signal for it. I’m content with winter but can always go for more.

Apparently Vancouver WA had a string of consecutive subfreezing highs once in mid-March... Maybe those conditions repeat themselves. No idea. But it's possible. We're at the right latitude. Just need to get the right airmass and the right mesoscale features. 2002 had the latter but not the former.

Today is easily going to be the wettest day of the winter…and maybe even the wettest day since December 20th 2019.

Working in a flooded crawlspace hanging insulation on heat lines. It’s a fun time.

1.00” on the day so far, 3.22” for the month, 10.40” for the year.
46 and raining with heavy smoke mixed in to the point where it’s giving me a migraine. I think the tree farm just to my south is having a huge burn. Not a great day for it as it’s just hanging low and not moving. And here is my backyard snow pile situation!

Watching the last of my snow melt and breathing in heavy smoke from a big slash burn. So just getting geared up for summer!

I think we'll beat it. I recorded 4.5" on 1/6/22 and we're already at 3.05" so far today. Should be an impressive 2-day total, adding in yesterday's 1.90".

Serious question... are we getting close to 80 inches of rain in the beginning of September?

Need more rain.   There is no way we are ready our 6 weeks of dry weather this summer.   😁

We stopped for gas in Marysville on Saturday and the air smelled like a campfire and it was very hazy.    It was like that from Everett all the way to Mt. Vernon and seemed really strange but we had no idea about the source.    I am guessing it was the same thing.

For most of western WA... that dry period did not even come close to wiping out the surplus for the water year.   SEA is getting close to the point now where it would not have to rain much between now and October 1st to still end up with a normal water year.  That is impressive.

It really felt like a dry period was coming by early January because it had been so wet that it was not sustainable.  And of course we have offset that entire dry period statistically just since Saturday.
