A bit of a personal post on my end. This was a few years in the making but had to postponed several times due to the passing of my mom during Covid and obviously the continuation of Covid until we are safe to travel. And also why I made this trip back to the home country for the first time in 20 years.
This was taken at Central Highlands of Vietnam in Da Lat early morning. The fog and mists was just like home.
All this post tells me is that you have a LOT of research to do on this topic.
I like what Coleman Hughes says about color blindness, as hawks pointed out, but as I looked around his X profile and watched his interviews about Israel, he has glaring holes in his understanding. He is most definitely not an authority on this issue at all.
ATC is not the same as corporate airlines. This is a government job just like ours in the US.
They get pensions, have good social programs (like all the French), lots of time off (like all French), and are paid fairly well (100k euros).
They ended up getting what they wanted I guess cause it got called off after the threat.
I cannot pass judgement on any of this unless it is known what led to the strike. Was it justified or was it excessive? Some French strikes are the former and some are the latter.
I will say that the airline industry is not known for caring about worker or passenger comfort or needs. Their race to the bottom in everything has led to all of this. Air travel coupled with stock buybacks, cost cutting, razor thin margins, and the public demanding dirt cheap tickets is not exactly a good combination. All the inconveniences of flying are self inflicted.
It was better when there was more regulation, less financial pressure, and slightly higher ticket prices.
