My area has been downgraded to a WWA from a WSW which makes a lot more sense. They are expecting 2-4 inches here when I last checked this am.

It didn’t get colder than 38F last night, but the small pond outside already has a decent layer of ice on it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. DP is down to 23F though.

Similar story IMBY. Bottomed out at 34.9˚F yet there was ice on the puddles this morning.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Snow sticking in South Everett near my house. I'm at work in Mountlake Terrace but that little band is doing its thing there.

Yeah I expected the horrific icy roads around my place after the overnight rain flash froze on the roads here with the temp dipping to 29…However when I dropped my daughter off at her school in Mt Vernon it was 36 but the roads were still slick as snot!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

No sir.    Just a few tiny flakes.   Temp is still 36 as well.   ECMWF insists on burst of SW wind and temp going up to around 40 by noon or 1 and then dropping.

This was probably mentioned earlier, but the 6z Euro definitely looked juicier for the central Sound with the front.

I think this really will be an event where we won’t know. I think areas like west Clark county, Columbia and Washington counties will be the big winners with the right amount of cold and moisture without the wind. I think the system will be more on the juicy side as it interacts with the Arctic front

I hope you're right. It's kind of disappointing to see so many models that show a good dump in Portland but little accumulation up here. That's atypical, but it does happen.

No matter what happens, though, it will be an interesting few days.

Another snowy GFS run for PDX. 12z shows 16” snow with temps in the teens Saturday. They never lose the east wind so when moisture arrives again the middle of next week it shows some ice.

Pretty wild how the GFS shows 16.0" vs the GRAF 4.5" with only 0.30" extra qpf.

The 27th

We had 20” with that arctic front. Thought maybe it was a recording error but there were lots of 10-20” totals on southern Vancouver island the night of the 26th through the 27th, when the arctic front went through.

Yeah we’re both too far north right now. Hopefully these showers expand a bit. Same thing as last year right now, my house is about a single mile north of the CZ.

PORTALND!!! Are y'all hyped or what??? This is gonna be a big snowstorm for someone down there. Excited for y'all.

Our Arctic front is already trying to do stuff in the central sound, though bands are setting up all around me except for over my house. Figures.

Big story is the cold here. Realistic outide shot KSEA gets their coldest temp of the century, and since Dec 1990. 13°F is the moneyshot, to beat out 14°F in Dec 2008 and Nov 2010.

I've learned not to say anything until its happening, been disappointed too many times.

I'm right down the road from the Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge, Washington Co. OR and I think we're gonna see some big snow out here. hopefully little to no ice. 🙃

Depends on where you are talking? I think there are more similarities to 1968 with large scale pattern. And I think a lot of places will end up colder than 2004.

1968 was a bit colder than what is progged, 2004 a tad warmer. These are about the coldest frames for both at 850mb.

Meh. The arctic front is not due down your way until much later today. By which time the sun will have come out and melted all or most of what will fall from that. They will get a brown blast, too.
