Too bad you didn't get more rain.  Topped out at 47 here with over an inch of rain.

We did get a half inch earlier so not bad. This is one of the driest parts of the Portland metro area so I don't expect too much rain usually. And we have multiple chances coming up!

Below zero (F) is the best kind of cold though!

If I lived in the US again, it would probably be somewhere in western MT (except not Missoula/Butte).

I've thought about Western MT also.  Central WA North of Ellensburg would be fine also, as long as it's in the treed areas.  Why not Missoula?

Where are you living now BTW.  I think Tignish is probably made up?

I was in Missoula in August once (2014) and it was hot as hell.

Past few summers have been very hot in the region. Cranbrook, BC had an average high of 91.4F last July 2021. Missoula averaged 94.1F that month, for a high. This year, 91.9F in Missoula. Too hot there! That's one of the reasons I live way out on this remote island.

The Central Puget Sound was the big winner today.  These training showers just keep coming although it does appear the end is near.

Really did end up in the jackpot of every training shower here. Got something like half an inch I guess? Definitely made up for the rainshadowing yesterday.

April is really the only month that I dislike here with the snow melting and everything still completely dead and dormant. By mid May things really start to green up with plentiful rain/snow and the anticipation of Spring is on the horizon.

The cold has never really bothered me...unless it's below zero!

I guess a big part of it for me is having the lake at the end of my street and not being able to go in it most May's. Kind of a lost month up here.

Strong signal for some kind of GOA blocking in early November showing up on the models now.  Can't wait to see how that evolves.

Just got back from the Thompson reservoir area in eastern Oregon. Was warm Thursday and Friday then the rain moved in last night and the winds picked up. Went to bed around 11 and it was 44 degrees and got up this morning to snow showers and 32. Elevation was 5100’. On the drive back to Redmond today I hit a few snow showers mostly around LaPine with temps in the upper 30’s. All in all a great start to the pattern change. Sitting at home now with partly cloudy skies and 38 degrees.

Also, where is Tim? Denial stage still?

I feel like we have to be due for something good in November. I think 2010 was the last big arctic blast in November around here. I do remember some snow in 2014 and 2017 but I don’t think those were really arctic blasts.

We were so close to moving to Fargo and my wife was even willing to move too. But a mechanical problem and snowstorm kept us from moving.

2014 was actually pretty legit.  It got pretty cold and the snow lasted for a while.

Talk about perfect timing.  Skies are clearing out now.  Should be looking at 30s fairly early in the night if it holds.

Yeah you’re right. I live in Duvall so I’m just going off the station closest to me with records but I did not realize how cold that month was! I remember the snow and cold at the end but I don’t remember it getting into the teens in the middle of that month! That’s crazy! Though I don’t know how much different Duvall is from Monroe and if it’s normally a few degrees warmer in Duvall.
