Though the “hot” days in western WA were actually very comfortable by DC standards. I caught a Mariners/Yankees game immediately after arriving and it actually felt cool in the shade.  

Yeah, we got lucky last summer in KY and it was front loaded. I'm under the impression that August is also the warmest month on average out here as well, which wasn't the case and this year could easily rearrange that. 

Other than a couple hot outlier days in September, it seemed like we went into the Fall season on a very mild note.

I'll let you know when I hear my first cicada. I enjoyed their presence (are the complaints mostly from farmland/rural areas?), it's the katydids that can be a nuisance.

Sitting at just 1.83” this month after 2.42” in January. We could definitely use some rain. Mountain snowpack is around normal though so that’s a plus.

Really?? i'd be amazed if there wasn't sticking snow down to a few hundred feet around the coast range. I don't know when you are serious sometimes either.

These northern runs are actually pretty good down here because the southern lobe of moisture comes in further north.

I am going to bump this post tomorrow to show how wrong the ICON can be when it goes about against the ECMWF.     This is a comically bad map... but still probably correct for the northern areas.
